Hi there
I was at MBS for a seminar recently, and decided to take a walk to check out the stores over there after the seminar ends, as I personally do not go there very often.
And this little detour actually brought me a delightful surprise π
Hiding in a corner at MBS, actually to be exact it is right at the end of MBS, diagonally across the food court on the second floor is where Au Chocolat is.
Au Chocolat Β is a made-in-Singapore French-inspired concept store with a bistro dining area and a retail confiserie with a wide selection of chocolate and candy. Inspired by French antiquated streets that instils a sense of nostalgia with its calm and sophisticated ambience; Au Chocolat house its own private label and selected branded products.
This stretch of stores which include patisserie, restaurants, candy store instantly caught my attention with their really lovely designs.
But little did I know that Au Chocolat is actually a brand created in Singapore that is to be showcased to the international and local consumers. Patrons will be able to savour luxurious handmade chocolates and witness a decadent variety of bonbons and cakes made before their eyes with the Chocolate atelier and patisserie in store.
Who could have known you can have a slice of the French experience here too. π
After checking out their products, I decided to get a couple slices of cakes for my mum and son to give them a nice surprise.
They have quite a wide range of desserts, like macaroons, cheesecakes, chocolate cakes, pies, etc.
But this time round, I have chosen the Au Chocolat Tart and also The Big Apple Pie π
Even the box itself is so cute!!
So why exactly is it called The Big Apple Pie, because indeed it is huge for a serving! Each serving cost $8 and my family loves it, the apples in there was abundance and the pie crust although is soft but have a nice texture, with the slightly sourish apple flavour and the sugary touch of the apple pie crust, this is one whole lot of a good apple pie experience.
While for the Au Chocolat Tart, I got it because I know my son’s eyes will be sparkled once he sees it, of course all thanks to Chocolate!! haha… This slice also cost $8 each, and I absolutely love this tart, the chocolate mouse has a little hazelnut flavour to it, and the tart crust was fabulous. At first I thought a couple of mouthful of this, and I will probably move on, but no no no, I just kept coming back for more! ^^>
Well so next time if you are at MBS, and puzzle where to get some takeaway home or have a cuppa, do consider this lovely place, I personally find it like I was in a candy store (at least for my eyes) when I was there and I definitely will be back soon as I know they have a brunch and set lunch menu too π
