Hi there
Thought we will have a change of lunch options, and decided to look for something in Takashimaya instead. All the eating place are bumping during lunch hours, and several times, when I past by this ramen store in the basement of Takashimaya, the queue always prevent me from eating there. 🙂
And coincidentally I was cravings for something spicy and for someone that normally does not eat rice nor noodles during lunch (to avoid that afternoon slump in the office…), you can tell I must be having a real cravings to even go near this place.
So with no queue and my spicy noodles calling, we headed in there to try this place out. The tan tan men was quite interesting, first thing first, it comes in a vibrant spicy soup which turns out to be not as spicy as it looks. However I do have to give a thumbs up for this, because people who loves peanut flavours, will adores this. This comes with a thick peanut soup which coat every strand of noodles. I am telling you, eating this is like eating soups of peanut butters, it is that thick.
Moving on, is the gyoza, which is kind of a combo whenever i eat ramen, nothing much to shout about, but at least it is still crispy on the outside.
My colleague which wanted to opt for something more soup and more vegetables, took the vegetable ramen instead. It comes with a nice huge bowl of ramen with lots of vegetables topping. Mind you, we only ordered half ramen, but I still could not finish the noodles. Now back to this ramen, I was told that it taste great and hit the right spot, however, for $19 a bowl of vegetables ramen, it is still a little steep.
Well, will I go back to this place, yeah why not ? definitely when I am having that peanut flavour cravings. 🙂
