During your weekly grocery shopping in the supermarket, do you sometimes have this light bulb moments which just propel you to cook up something special?

I just had one over the weekend 🙂 and it was all thanks to my son. I wanted to do our weekend artwork with my son and thought of getting some pasta but then while passing by the chiller section, I saw this pack of cute looking mantou.

And especially it is under the Sakura brand, I thought I will try it out and try to make Mantou Sandwich for my son’s sunday morning scrumptious breakfast.

KIDS SUMMER POPSICLE RECIPES – KIDS LOVE USING DAISO POPSICLE MOLD

As the scotching weather persist or even escalate, there is just one thing in our household that has been currently under our grocery list – ice cream.. ice cream… more ice cream…

But of course even though ice cream are nice (… realllllly niceee), I wanted to try my hands, or rather my son’s hands on making our own ice popsicle to beat the scotching sun that is both nutritious and fun to do so that we both can spend some quality bonding time together. 🙂

So I went to Daiso to source for my popsicle mold, you can always use the ice tray in the freezer but I wanted to make it more fun for my son and also go back to the good old time during primary school where we usually buy these popsicle after lunch while walking back to school.

THAI HERITAGE SPICY THAI BASIL TAKE ON STRAITS TIMES BEER CAN CHICKEN RECIPES

During my visit to check out some new products in the supermarket, I saw this small selection of cooking paste by Thai Heritage.

I love Thai food, and since my first taste of Thai fresh basil, I was totally head over heels with this wonderful underrated herbs from The Land of Smiles.

So when I see these wonderful spices of Thai Basil stir fry and spicy garlic thai basil stir fry, and also grated lemongrass in the bottle, it felt like a crime if I didn’t get it. haha..

Besides I have already planned out to try out the beer can chicken recipes that was shown on Strait times just a couple week’s back, and my colleague who already tried this recipe, gave it a 2 thumbs up.

Do you like potato salad? I love salad and potato salad is one of my favourite because it is so easy to make, ingredients is so affordable and taste great with dressing like mayo. 🙂

I have made Japanese Potato Salad in the past and I like to make it when my family decide to cook up some fried food like deep fried pork chop Tonkatsu.

Over the weekend, While grocery shopping at Carrefour, I was checking out their range of in house mayo brands available.

HAPPYCALL PAN RECIPES – WAITROSE TAPENADE GREEN OLIVE PASTE WITH GRILLED SALMON & TOMATO PASTA

Do you like Olives? I looooooovvve Olives. Black, green, pitted or not, whole, cutted, just love it. I use to get it at Carrefour supermarket because they sell one of the best I reckon and in vaccum pack, but lately I haven’t stock up on it.

However whenever I go to buffet, I will check out if there is any olives and will “strategically” sprinkle generously on my salad, these little savory morsels of goodness besides packing a punch on the nutrition scale. One reason I love these dearly is because how easily these can turn your dish into something wonderful. 🙂

And lucky me, I was checking out Cold Storage new offerings lately, and came across this Waitrose Green Olive Paste. 🙂 Better still, all in a bottle, don’t even need to pit it at all.

So I have decided to cook up some grilled salmon using Happycall pan, that way I can also illustrate just how easy it is to cook fish in this pan. 🙂 I used both the tomato pasta and grilled fish with these green olive paste, and I must say, it is really easy to turn a simple dish into something really special. 🙂

DAISO COOKIE CUTTER – KIDS FRENCH TOAST IN ADORABLE SHAPES IN MINS

As I have some bread left, decided to use it to make some french toast at the last minute for saturday breakfast, then I remembered I have a pack of cookie cutter which I bought from Daiso some time ago, and was supposed to use it for omelette or rice balls.

So these cookie cutter became my last minute props for making some cute french toast with my son. 🙂

HAPPYCALL PAN RECIPES – GRILLED MUSTARD CHICKEN WITH MUSHROOMS

I have this vivid memories of a dish that my dad cooked for our family a long time ago, 10 yrs hmm.. Or may be longer, however it was a dish which got me wonder on the power of flavour combination and not underestimate how a simple spice can works wonder on a simple dish. 🙂

This dish is Mustard Chicken with Mushrooms. Mustard alone is a nice condiment but think of it as a main gravy, it can be a little daunting.

However this recipe may just surprise you, how wonderfully flavored the dish can be, with just the right amount of spice. 🙂

QUICK & SIMPLE RECIPES – BUDWEISER BUFFALO WINGS, NOW I CAN REALLY FLY

My family especially my husband is a fan for buffalo wings and we will frequent Hooters which we reckon serve one of the best 911 wings in Singapore. 🙂

And I have always wanted to try cooking this because I figure out it is practically fried chicken wings with some really good buffalo wings sauces.

So while over the weekend walking around cold storage to get some inspiration on my weekend dinner, I found this attractive looking Budweiser bottle, yup Budweiser as is the beer brand and they carry sauces too! Cool! The bottle indicate it as Wing Sauce which is mild & Tangy, so I thought I will give it a try to spice up my weekend dinner. 🙂

GOOSE FAT ZERO TO PERFECT ROASTED POTATOES HERO – OH MY GOSH ITS THAT GOOD

Hi there

I have always wanted to try to make some really good baked potatoes, and I have also heard a lot about how goose fat can transform a simple potato to a wonderful roasted potato dish. 🙂

So there I was checking out new stuff in Cold Storage and saw this bottle of goose fat which is from UK of a decent size, something I can try perhaps in one seating and if it is really ruin, I won’t feel so much of a heart pain. :p And of course, the simple yet elegant bottle is a big draw for me, even better, it stated “For delicious roasted potatoes-” which is the theme of my dinner 🙂

Cooking delicious roasted potatoes have never been this easy especially for me, because I have tried in the past with olive oil but although it turned out okay, I will feel it is a tad dry on the palate so we will just see how this can help with the siutation.
