When I go to Japan during summer time, and a must try is definitely japanese kakigori, which is loosely translate to Japanese Ice Kachang. π
There are many types of kakigori, traditional kinds with old school toppings like red beans, black beans, chest nuts, mochi, and there are the new ones, which is just shaved ice with syrup like strawberries, lemon, green tea flavours, and toppings of some nice vanilla or green tea ice cream.
When we go to the summer festival, you can also find many shaved ice, which was on plastic cones, and you can see people walking around with shaved ice in their hands.

Looking for a place to dine? Check out Sho Teppan Salaryman deals. In Japan, salaryman refers to the white collar workers, so I am guessing it is quite popular with them for a no frill dining experience.Β Sho Teppan creates a fun, casual and no-frills culinary affair which allows customers to enjoy the thrill of cooking the meal themselves, just the way they like it. Unique and innovative, Sho Teppan is the first to offer both Teppanyaki and Sukiyaki under one roof.
Sho Teppan’s “Chef-less” concept, with no live kitchen, means thereβs a transparency to the restaurant. This only makes the ambience warmer and cosier, and not surprisingly, itβs like your very own dining room!
