I love cooking and making up my own recipes and scouting around for some interesting kitchen gadgets is a weekly affair for me, either to distress or to bond with my little one, and by now if you have been following my food blog, you probably have seen quite a few.
It also surely doesn’t hurt when the kitchen gadget looks so adorable, which can brighten up your whole cooking experience 🙂
I personally like Japanese gadgets as it usually comes in these irresistible design and if I am in japan, trust me – I can stay in the kitchen section for hours. I even make it a point to go to the household store in outlet malls where these gadgets going at unbelievable prices.
Carrying back cooking pots & pans & kitchen tools are all part of my holiday experience. Haha.. but these days it is not difficult to find good, quality and pretty ones in Singapore too, like Franc Franc down to the $2 Daiso shop. You can still find really nice ones.
One of the items that can so called “beautify” your kitchen or dining table is of course the pepper & salt shaker or grinder. I have tried a few in the past, but not many things impress me as they are either too chunky or hard to wash.
I personally like the wooden one, however because you cannot see the contents inside the pepper grinder, I always have this fear that the pepper can get moldy and you do not know about it. It is especially so, when you always have to go near to the cooking pot and the heat just do no justice.
And especially when I cook, I only have one hand to sprinkle the spices, so heavy ones or those require two hands to grind it can be cumbersome. But then I saw these pepper & salt grinders shape of a rabbit and endorsed by some celebrity chef, which only require one hand to keep your other free while you stir your cooking.
