Hi there
I have tried quite many brands of frozen dumplings, and so far the best I have tried is Ajinamoto Chicken & Vegetables Gyoza . But it sure doesn’t hurt to try out other new flavours and explore the world beyond perfection, haha…
Then my mum got this from Fairprice, CJ Pork & Vegetables crispy dumplings. It states
- Fully cooked
- Fresh ingredients Used
- Easy to Cook
So let’s just test this out to see if it is that good. 🙂
Cooking it is fairly simple, you can use Happy Call if you have one, or just about any kind of non stick fry pan.
The dumplings itself is not your regular ones, it comes in really big pieces! Actually kind of like some Brazilian or Mexican street food snacks. Although its size is big, it is also flatter than usual ones.
Cooking it was a breeze, and it brown fairly well, as it is flat, you can easily attend crispiness on both sides.
I mixed some gyoza dipping sauce concoction :
- Soya sauce x 2 teaspoon
- Sesame oil x 1 teaspoon
- Apple Cider x 1/2 teaspoon
- Chilli power (we used the left over sachets from instant noodles like the mee soto :D) x a pinch
- Chopped green onions
The ingredients consist of some minced pork, chives, and also potato noodles in it. Taste wise, by itself it isn’t that tasty like the Ajinamoto brand, we were hoping that there will be a more garlicy flavour.
But as a snack, this is still something you can whip up quickly. I guess Ajinamoto still reigns in the frozen gyoza flavour test. 🙂
