DAISO COOKIE CUTTER – KIDS FRENCH TOAST IN ADORABLE SHAPES IN MINS

As I have some bread left, decided to use it to make some french toast at the last minute for saturday breakfast, then I remembered I have a pack of cookie cutter which I bought from Daiso some time ago, and was supposed to use it for omelette or rice balls.

So these cookie cutter became my last minute props for making some cute french toast with my son. πŸ™‚

There are many ways of making french toast, mostly require eggs batter, some use milk, some use cream and even vanilla ice cream.

But as this was a last min thing, all I have was just some eggs, so I decided to make it simple and embark this little family bonding time over french toast. πŸ™‚

Okay, for $2, you get 6 large cookie cutters from Daiso, love the adorable ginger bread man which can comes in handy when making omelette for bento.

This cookie cutters can be used for your regular cookie dough, sandwiches, cheeseΒ and bento making, although it is make of plastic, the edge is still quite sharp, so please be careful if you want to let your child to use it.

Ingredients are simple, you will just need :

  1. White bread x 2 slices
  2. Eggs x 2
  3. Toppings – icing sugar, jam, fruits, chocolate sauce, peanut butter, etc.
  4. Vegetable oil

Directions :

1) First off, just let your child use the mold to cut out various shape, guide them to making the shapes out of each corner, so you can get the most out of every piece of bread.

You will then get a whole bunch of adorable shapes of breads, which is enough to make your child all happy.

2) Beat the eggs in a bowl and dunk the bread in it, make sure you coat the bread fully with the egg batter.

3) Heat the pan with a little oil, I used my Happycall Pan as I do not want to have those fried greasy smell on my clothing, and place individual eggs batter soaked bread on to the pan.Β  Close the pan if you opt to not smell like a grease bomb there after πŸ™‚ for 30 secs.

Flip to the other side when the first side is of golden brown, and have the other side done equally golden brown.

And there you go, a quick adorable french toast breakfast with your kids. πŸ™‚

I had some Royce chocolates at home with berries fillings, so I broke half a piece into fine pieces and sprinkle on the french toast. πŸ™‚

You can also have it with some savory items like sausages, a power breakfast that can last you for some time.

Put some jam or puree in a separate dish and let your kid apply on the french toast themselves, that will get them all curious and will gobble down after they are done πŸ™‚

The cookie cutter is quite handy, although it might not be as sharp as the stainless steel kind, but it is much more suitable for kids, and for $2 I can get to have 6 molds, I am not complaining at all. πŸ™‚
