DAISO SUKIYAKI SAUCE – SIMPLE QUICK JAPANESE SUKIYAKI IN LESS THAN 15 MINS

Hi there

I have this bottle of Daiso Sukiyaki Sauce stored in my home for ages, because I kept buying new ones and all these became my secret stash just when I needed something quick to whip up a meal.

And this little bottle of Daiso sukiyaki sauce just did the trick, affordable at $2 per bottle, and able to feed a family of 5 adults with the right amount of ingredients, and all it take me is just 15 mins to prepare.

Daiso Sukiyaki Sauce

So tonight menu is Sukiyaki, Japanese dish where it is a dish with meat (usually beef), and other ingredients like vegetables, simmered in a dish, with the hot savory soya sauce broth, good amount of sweetness which just makes this dish very addictive.  🙂

Daiso Sukiyaki Sauce

Ingredients I used this time :

  • Wawa vegetables – 1 pack (as I couldn’t find the large Tienshin vegetables)
  • Enoki Mushroom – 1 pack
  • King Mushroom – 1 pack
  • Sukiyaki Beef – 1 pack
  • Shabu Shabu pork belly – 1 pack (optional)
  • Leek x 1
  • Tofu x 1 carton
  • Sukiyaki Sauce x half bottle
  • Mirin Japanese cooking wine x 2 tablespoon

When I cook sukiyaki or stew which use leeks, I love to grill in on the open stove, I feel the taste become more enhanced, you can taste the sweetness of the leeks, and it does not end up with too much of that slimy texture too. Just place it on the open flame and when it start to burnt on the outside, it will be just nice. 🙂

Directions :

Nothing can be more easy than this. 🙂

Only 1) I just place all the ingredients in the pot, and pour the sukiyaki sauce over it. Add 2 tablespoon mirin, and that’s it, let it simmer.

The correct way to do it, is to sauteed the meat and the ingredients in the shallow pan. However I prefer to just let it simmer itself, save my time so I can do something else. 🙂

My favourite is to add beef which is the traditional way, however, I also occasionally use pork belly, as long as it taste good, it doesn’t really bother me on the traditional way of making it.

You can see the ingredients are all simmered in this broth, soaking up all the goodness. 🙂

With this, I can feed 5 hungry adults & 1 hungry toddler, you can also dip the meat into beaten raw eggs just before eating too and if you prefer your sukiyaki to be  sweeter, you can adjust it by adding sugar. 🙂

Product review wise, I like this sauce, as it is so fuss free, of course you can concoct your own, but if you are really tight in time, give this a try, although not the best I have ever tried, but with all the scrumptious ingredients in the broth, this is secondary to everything. 🙂
