FORTUNE FOOD – POPIAH FOR THIS CHINESE NEW YEAR?

Hi there

I was at Middle Road the other day and decided to have popiah for lunch. Went to the wet market there, and ordered my usual popiah stake out, for $1.30 each roll, it is much cheaper than a lot of place offering. Of course Qiji serve good quality popiah – no question asked. But this is actually really good too. 🙂

So while chatting with the auntie at the stall, I was telling her it is quite difficult to get popiah skin these days, I only know for a few place that I can get which is at Joo Chiat, and also at Qiji, but the pricing is rather steep, then she pointed to me that they are selling it too and apparently there are many branches too!

Fortune Food

Popiah skin going for $14 per kg, which is quite cheap.  For $22, you can get a DIY Popiah Set (min 15 rolls), which comes with :

  • Handmade Popiah Skin
  • Cooked Turnip with carrot
  • Sweet sauce
  • Chilli
  • Minced Garlic

  • Crispy Bits
  • Grated Peanuts
  • Eggs
  • Shredded Cucumber
  • Bean Sprout & Coriander Leaves

They also have Kueh Pie Ti set too, at$26, which is about the same, but rather popiah, you will get 50 handmade kueh pie ti shells instead. 🙂

I have yet to try out their fruit rojak, but everytime I buy the popiah from them, I see people buying the fruit rojak, so it should be quite good.

Fortune Food Popiah

Free Delivery for $50 & above and you will need to order 1 day in advance.  Apparently they actually have many branches. And they also have handmade springroll & Springroll skin too.

By the way, their CNY DIY party set which is above, only incurred another $4 more. I think it is a good price. 🙂

So if you want to take a break for your usual feasting, you can opt for something like like Popiah, I am suer Popih is also a crowd pleaser, getting everyone to make their own popiah this Festive Lunar New Year. 🙂

Happy Cooking!
