Hi there
I managed to get hold of this bottle of Happy Sheep Honey, and I must say I am giving this bottle of honey lots of respect! 🙂
I seldom use honey in fact because the only time I use probably when I am using it to flavor some roast chicken wings or meat.
But this Happy Sheep Honey has made me change my whole perception on honey big time because it is sooooooo versatile, I use this honey for so many dishes and drinks, OMG I really can’t get enough of it.
Each tub of these honey consist of 4 lemons, that tells you how flavorful they are, burst of citrus flavor in every scoop.
I used this for quite a few recipes, so I will just name a few useful ones that you might like. 🙂
1) Recipe I : Lemon Honey Ginger Cough Cure
You know how kids can get cough very often, and my son does have those occasional cough and can be persistent when it comes to the night, I guess you categorize it as “cold cough”, so what I did is boil up some ginger water using old ginger and let it simmer.
I then added half a spoon of this Happy Sheep Lemon Honey in it and made my own ginger concoction for my son.
Okay, to be honest, this thing is really spicy, but it works for my son, as kids doesn’t really like to drink this, so I made it only 2 spoons a time and let him slurp it up. With the added flavour of lemon, it kinds of tone down the spiciness which is pretty helpful.
2) Recipe II : Honey Lemon Oven Roasted Chicken Wings
I do quite a bit of roasting at home using my small oven. And I will always use honey to glaze the wings before serving to give it a golden brown look.
So for marinades I usually use soy sauce, garlic powder, ginger and lemon. now when I cook these wings, I can skip the lemon and drizzle the lemony honey towards the end.
The best part is, I don’t even need to squeeze lemon just before serving, because the roasted chicken wings already have that really nice sweet citrusy lemon flavor to it. We tried twice using this recipe and it still one of the best flavor we have tried so far. 🙂
3) RECIPE III : Ice Honey Lemon Drink / Hot Honey Lemon Drink
And of course how can I stop there, this honey can make instant ice honey lemon drink or hot ones for the cooling evenings. I don’t even need to cut lemon slices and just scoop it into the cup and add the water to melt it.
I personally prefer the iced version, because it is so refreshing, add some Nata de coco and you get a very nice summer drink going on! 🙂
4) RECIPE IV : Salad dressing
I also can think of using this for home made salad dressing, going to try this out with some grated onions and garlic, soya sauce and olive oil to make a japanese dressing, stay tune! 🙂
So you see, how this tub of honey can make my life so much easier, haha… Oh and they also have a strawberry flavors, I am thinking how I can use this too. Interesting~
