I actually heard from my colleagues about this Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck Restaurant, kid you not, the name of it, already gave me a little giggle, but at the same time, I am kind of assured that they must be really that good to actually called themselves Super! You know how sometimes restaurant serve really crappy appetizer or snack, and once you take a look at it, you will just automatically ask the staff to take it away before you get charged for a good few bucks for something that you didn’t even order at the first place?

Well, this is probably one of the few places which I didn’t ask the staff to take away and the other way round, I actually wanted more of it! 🙂 But again for $3 per pickles, it better be good. Chinese tea is $2 per person as well.

These glazed cashews with some sesame sprinkle on top is just the best snack to wet your appetite.

Recommended by my colleagues, was the roast pork, these teeny weeny cubes cannot be underestimated, the lack in size definitely compensated by the flavour and texture of it. 🙂

I also like their chilli sauce, athough it is not the chilli oil, these sweet chilli sauce still pack a punch, there are many savory beans in it, goes well with the siew mai

Given the nice dining experience from the dim sum lunch, I have swiftly made a reservation with them for my mum’s birthday. 🙂

And of course, Peking duck will be the highlight of the meal. You will get a different experience at this restaurant, your peking duck will be served in 4 – 6 thinly sliced perfectly crispy peking duck skin with no fats on it, all you need to do is to dip into a little sugar and savor the crispy delight.

Next up, slices of duck are prepared infront of your eyes, together with the crunchy cucumber and spring onion juienne, all wrapped by some freshly steamed flour skin, this is really one of the best I have tried in Singapore. Because what really bugs me is how some restaurant serves the egg crepes for peking duck, which I feel is a big no no, I am so glad this is done the traditional way. 🙂

The price for one Peking Duck is $68, and for second serving of the meat, it will set you back another $10 for it.  I went with the traditional HKG way of eating which is just fried duck meat wrapped with fresh lettuce. You can’t go wrong with that. Oh just to remind you, you will need to reserve the Peking duck too, and its funny, when I make my reservations, the waitress just automatically said reserving one for you.

We also orderedd Fried squid with egg yolk, when it was served, we were actually quite surprised by how chunky each piece was, the golden egg yolk paste enveloped the whole battered crispy squid and it was sooo sinful just thinking about it, but also it is soooo good! I think with this, I cleared half bowl of my rice.

For our daily dose of veges, we opted with claypot mixed vegetables with Beancurd sauce, nothing much to shout about, I find the beancurd gravy was a little too runny yet was also overly salty, the beancurd was really nice though, soaked up all the beancurd sauce.

The tomato sauce pork ribs comes with generous thick chunks of belly pork with this very savory tomato base gravy, actually it was quite different from what we have in HKG, I think I prefer the HKG version better but this is not bad either, goes very well with white steamed rice.  Pork belly was succulent and the texture was not tough as well.

We tried couple of fish dishes, one is Sea Bass with superior sauce for one person portion which was for my son, and I like it a lot, the fish fillet was fresh and firm, and goes very well with the superior sauce.

Whereas for the adults, we opted for Sea bass with black bean sauce, this is a more savory version, and it was very good too!

Overall I think the highlight is still the Peking duck which is still my favourite, other dishes was great too but I do find they are quite heavy on the palate, oh well, there is a possibility of the choice I made, may be I just have another excuse to go and try out their Peking duck again along with some other dishes. 🙂
