IPPUDO HOT SAUCE FOR SALAD DRESSING OR BETTER STILL…STEAM BOAT

Hi there

Most people know about the Ippudo ramen at Mandarin Gallery, but do you know they also sell their Ippudo Hot Sauce at Meidiya? I chanced upon them when I was doing my grocery there, and immediately snap it up, because it says Ippudo Hot Moyashi Sauce. Which is to say Ippudo Hot Sauce for Bean Sprout.

Ippudo Hot Sauce

Since it says bean sprout, so I decided to make a salad out of it, I used below ingredients :

  • Bean sprout x 1 back (heads and ends peeled)
  • Chives x 1/4 bunch
  • Shabu Shabu Pork x 1 pack

Ippudo Hot Sauce

Directions :

  • Basically what I have done was just use 1 pot of water, throw in bean sprout and chives into the boiling water for 1 min and immediately sieve it out and run under tap water to cool down the boiling process, so the bean sprout will come out crunchy
  • With the hot water, I use it to boil the shabu shabu pork, once cook, leave it aside to let it cool down a little before mixing with the veges. (You do not want to put piping hot meat onto just cooled down veges right? 🙂 )

And final step, just drizzle this Ippudo Hot Sauce over it, and Viola! a healthy and delicious meal!

For review purposes, I find the Ippudo Hot Moyashi Sauce comes with a strong sesame oil flavour, it is definitely not spicy but with a mild taste, I guess because it is for Japanese palate.

Nevertheless, this bottle comes in very handy if you are starting to get tired of the usual dressing, kind of like give you a kick, because from what I see the dressing in supermarket these days, it didn’t really carry spicy dressing flavour, so this just fall into the niche category I am looking for. 🙂

However I did make a great discover though, haha… It taste sooooooo great for steamboat!!!!!!

I mix it with the Sesame sauce for meat land when both dressing meet, miracle happens! (ok, I know I am a drama queen when it comes to food), but really I thought I see sparkles everywhere, the sesame flavour of the shabu shabu sauce goes perfectly well with this hot sauce, and when meat dunk in, the velvety texture just give the meat a boast of flavour! Two thumbs up! 🙂

Ippudo Hot Sauce

So if you chance upon this Ippudo Hot Sauce, remember to get the Shabu Shabu sauce too for your next steam boat session. 🙂 I think this is imported from Japan, but who knows, it might become a main stream item in the near future.
