JANE’S CAKE STATION CAKES REVIEWS – INTERESTINGLY OVERLY MOIST AND SALTY?

I got this Chocolate fudge cake from my colleagues who is so nice to share with me some after she got one whole cake. ^^ It is supposed to be from the famous Jane’s Cake Station in Jalan Kayu.

I have been hearing good reviews about this cake, and was told that their chocolate cake is not sweet and chocolate fudge cake lovers cannot miss this. Do have my worries, because my family has sweet tooth! 🙂

By now you would have know, that my family adores dessert, so I am really pumped up to get my hands on this. 🙂

Each cake cost $36 each, which is of a very decent price for chocolate cakes nowadays, and the portion is huge!

Now is the taste test, well, it smell great actually, haha.. but I was very surprised by how soggy the cake was, it is not densed at all and very much like a piece of cake that actually got dunked into a cup of milk, but having to say that, it holds very well together. You can probably see the texture from below photo, honey comb like which gives the cake very airy texture.

Flavor wise, chocolate flavor was not strong and it taste quite salty too, which surprised me even more because the cake looks like it has a tonne of chocolate powder in it. I know chocolate cake requires salt but this time round I felt it was rather heavy handed.

I think this chocolate cake is more suitable for people without a sweet tooth, and also those that like their cake to be light and feathery, which is quite opposite from our household haha…

Well, it sure is interesting to find new chocolate flavors around, and try out different cakes, but I think I still prefer the sweeter version. 🙂 For the price and the size of the cake, it sure wins hands down and I am sure Jane’s Cake Station sure has fans adoring their cakes too.
