MAXIM’S PASTRY SELECTIONS – MY STAPLES IN EVERY MID AUTUMN FESTIVAL

Usually when there is mooncake fair, I do not only check out the mooncake selection, I will always pop by Maxim booth to grab their cookies and also egg rolls, as this remind me of my childhood when I was in Macau, and in most major food event, you can also find Maxim booth in there, so every yearly I can still stock up a few times. 🙂

One of my favourite is the buttery egg rolls, you can’t find it elsewhere in singapore, where it is so light and full of buttery flavour. Kids love this. 🙂 But it can be a hassle for the mummies out there, as this breaks up very easily haha.. so I really look like a hawk whenever I feed my son this. All handmade without any preservatives 🙂

Other goodies that I will pack home include the buttefly cookies, walnut cookies and the quinessential items that you will need to get the almond flakes pastries stick.

This year they have also changed their packaging, just to hip it up a bit. 🙂

Walnut cookies come with this nutty powdery flavour, although you won’t find chunk of walnut in it, however the buttery nutty flavour will make you not stop for just one piece. 🙂

The butterfly cookies is one of my son’s favourite too, it has this slight sweetness and all in bite size.

As for the almond flakes pastry sticks, it comes with 3 flavours, chocolate, original and lemon, I like the lemon and original the most, because the lemon adds a very fruity take to the pastry, with the crunch of the almond, I assure you, you will probably polish off the whole pack in mins. 🙂

I really admire how they can make all these cookies with such light texture, so you won’t feel very greasy after eating a few. Technically not very good to my waistline, but how can I resist these goodies that remind me of my childhood memories right? 🙂
