NEW PRODUCT REVIEWS – MYOJO INSTANT NOODLES

Hi there,

My husband was craving for his usual Korean ramen, so decided to drop by Shop n Save to replenish some stock. His usual favourite brand is the Nong Shim Korean Ramen, the one where you can find “辛” brand on the packaging.

But as they ran out of stock, I was hesitating if I should changed the menu, then suddenly I spotted this big Sale sign infront of one brand of Korean Ramen & also state New Product.

Myojo Instant Noodles, a bit skeptical at first, but I was a bit lazy so decided to stick to the menu.

This new product Myojo instant noodles comes in two flavours :

  • Spicy Mushroom
  • Spicy Lobster Hot Pot

Alright, spicy mushroom flavour sound decent enough for my husband, as it sound so similar like the Korean Shin Ramen, so I bought that for my husband, nothing too funky.

Anyway, the packaging also mention that this is some sort of newly innovated noodles texture, the noodles suppose to be straight rather than the curly ones you usually get, so it is supposed to bring you a new instant noodles experience once & for all.

After I opened the packaging, the noodles does look different from the Korean Shin Ramen. It looks finer but in the same large portion with one pack of garnish made of dried mushroom, carrots, spring onion, chilli, & a pack of chilli powder soup base.

I was actually cooking some spam to go with it, and forgot to off the fire, so I was expecting the noodles to be very soggy by the time I bring to my husband. But to my surprise, it didn’t turn soggy at all! wow! that’s something different, I use my normal cooking time for the Shin Ramen but this brand, the noodles didn’t get all soggy and still remain rather al dente!

However after I tried it, I am totally won over by this. Let me just say, this noodles really won me over, I like how it is finer & taste like Japanese ramen that you eat in the ramen restaurant, the soup is similar, kim chi spicy flavour, with kick. The noodles thou really taste great!

I also tried the lobster hot pot flavour, was again skeptical about the flavour, the same old noodles, but the soup base is different, it comes with 1 pack of dried powder soup & also a pack of paste to mix into the broth. Just like some Tom Yum noodles with both the dry & paste soup base mixture.

And…This is even better than the spicy mushroom flavour!

The soup taste like it contains fried lobster shell in it, you know like how Singapore prawn noodles broth are made, having prawn shell fried till fragrant so you can get that distinct prawn essence in the soup. This is similar to that. For me I still find the serving is still too much for 1 person, but for a big guy, it looks like a satisfying portion.
