Hi there
If you go to Resort World Sentosa or stay for a night at the Resort World Hotel, chances of you seeing advertisement of Palio Italian Restaurant is pretty high, especially their 3pm 1 for 1 Pizza Promotions is supposed to be one of the selling point.
I have yet to try out their Pizza though so far but I managed to scheduled in a buffet breakfast at Palio during one of my stay at Resort World Sentosa. 🙂
First thought when I make a reservation over there, was that I will be seeing Italian cuisine on the breakfast spread, however after seated, we were a little disappointed that the Italian spread was close to non existent.
But they do have pretty good spread of other food. Like self made Lasi Lemak, Roti Prata with curry, oriental fried vegetables at the Asian section.
Western spread include the usual suspect like bacon, sausages, tomato beans, hashbrown, french toast and pancakes.
Of course if it is breakfast, there will definitely be a whole range of bread, baugette, butter rolls, muffins, pastries and crossients. There is a toaster for you to heat up too.
But some how may favourite is always the Congee at Resort World Sentosa, the reason? Their varieties of condiments! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Practically you name it they have it. Congee wise you can have 3 choices, plain (help yourself), chicken or fish or both (someone will cook on the spot 🙂 )
I personally prefer the plain porridge not because it taste better but because the chef who cook the porridge literally cook the grains down to nothing. I tried both version, and the plain porridge was thick and velvety but the chicken porridge was so run down because of all the stirring.
The chef was trying to quicken the cooking process, so they constantly stirred the porridge and people who cook good porridge know this is a big no no.
There are also fruits, yogurt and also preserved fruits section if you want to concoct your own fruity yogurt platter.
Other prize spread include smoked salmon with capers, variety of cheeses, cold chicken ham with salad greens.
Both are fresh and cleared up pretty quickly, but they are too replaced pretty promptly too.
Look at the condiments of the porridge, even I personally does not like porridge so much, having all these to dress up my humble bowl of porridge already interest me.
Even my son was happy to see so many condiments he can try. 🙂
And how can I play around with the food available to make some canapes. 🙂
Just crackers with smoked salmon and capers, or cheese with walnuts and dried cranberries, yummm….
Having to say that, I find their Asian delights not that excellent though, everything was cooked nicely but just the combination of it that didn’t impress us given the price we pay.
If compare with Starz Restaurant at Hard Rock with Palio, I personally prefer Starz Restaurant although the food served are very similar. But I do will still go back to Palio for their 1 for 1 Pizza promotion next time I am there. 🙂
