Hi there

Over the long weekend last week, I have made my way for a short staycation at Hard Rock Hotel and also prepared for some serious fun at the newly opened Port of Lost Wonders at Sentosa. 😉

Port of Lost Wonders at Sentosa Singapore

Port of Lost Wonders opened since 14 April 2012, so it is one of the hottest and newest place you can bring your kids to. 🙂

For little kids who love pirates theme, this place will be spectacular to them. 🙂

I was soooo looking forward to it because my son recently have fallen in love with pirates theme and so this place lately has become a very useful bribery tool to make him a good little boy if I need to too. Haha..

And of course, no one is more excited than my son as I showed him the website, the sparkle in his eyes when he see the gigantic pirate ship is already all worth it. 😉

Lost of Port Wonders is located at Palawan Beach and occupied quite a large area. You will find many pirates theme, from large barrels to pirates street lamp to small and big canon which is great for photo taking.

From there you will either walk which takes up about 5 mins or take the tram, as my son is always fascinated by bus, trains, we decided to take the tram and only took us 2 mins to reach there.

Admission at Port of Lost Wonders

One thing to take note is that you get the admission ticket at the Lost of Port Wonders rather than the information center. I was a little confused when I reached there and lucky I didn’t join the queue and went straight there instead.

Once you are there, you can proceed to make the entrance fees, as they have opening special, we paid $6.80 for one child. One adult can accompany one child for free. It is really nice of them to consider letting adults come in to play for free while accompanying the little ones. 🙂

On the spot you will be given a plastic wrist band which differentiate the adult and the child, a pack of Curio coins which can translate into some spending power for the little ones and a Port Pass, kind of like a passport to POLW. Talk about creativity. This is the works! 🙂

What your kids need to do is to :

  1. Bring the Port Pass to Port of Lost Wonder (everytime when you visit them)
  2. Have fun at the activities & don’t forget to ask for a stamp too
  3. Collect 5 identical stamps in a line to win a Silver Prize and collect 5 different stamps in a line to win a Gold Price, and if you are a member, you can get a Gold Plus Prize
  4. Complete the Port Pass to win something special. 🙂

The Port Pass comes with many stickers, and my son loves it, it has this nice little map of Port of Lost Wonder so you will know how to find your way. You can keep the Port Pass with you and bring it along with you whenever you are there, there is even a place for you to paste your kids photo in there too. 🙂

Pinic Area at POLW

If you are hungry, you can either have a gorgeous picnic there, basking under the sun at the outdoor picnic area where it comes with many really nice cushion decks for you to lay on. Available from 10am – 11pm, so you can practically spend the day there. 🙂

Port Belly Restaurant

You can also choose to order food at Port Belly too. 🙂 I saw a lot of Caucasian families enjoying their time there while munching on finger food, chicken nuggets, fries, pasta, sandwiches.

Heard that Port Belly can also host corporate functions in the evenings too. And of course if you want to a super fun birthday party, they do cater that as well. 🙂

If you have toddlers, they can get to play with toys at the Hatch Patch, or you can always find some cool and fun toys for them at the Just Wonder shop where they sell beachwear, bags, souvenirs, toys and games. 🙂

Now comes to the real fun. The look on my son’s face is priceless, brimming with excitement and joy and can’t wait to join the rest of the children. Who could miss this gigantic pirate ship right in the middle of POLW.

Water fun at POLW

Safety First at POLW

As the place just opened less than a month ago, everything looks so new and enticing, even the changing & shower rooms are all so new. Their pirates decor extend even to the rooms itself. 🙂

There are all sorts of fun water spray, water pumping area, water guns ready to shoot flags to win matches and it is really a great place for some outdoor phototaking too. I still find the best photos really comes from the kids play time. 🙂

Even the fake palm trees have water spraying out, parents carrying little toddlers were having a blast there. 🙂

There are cushion on this area, so it makes it so much safer for the kids to run around there, and I do not have to worry if my kid slipped.

The Pirate Ship has quite a few steps which lead you to different parts of the ship, you can see kids and adults climbing up there and enjoying being on it.

There are some major fun going on the gigantic water slides too, and they have this huge Pirate face barrel which holds the water and once this huge barrel is full, the bell will start to ring, “Ding, Ding, Ding” and this whole barrel of water will pour and gush down, the kids and adults just love it.

The only thing I wish for was if the water could have been clear, because of the foam theme they have, the water can be a little foamy, however it does not cause any irritations to the skin, even for my sensitive skin, I do not even feel any itch, I guess it is more of a mental thing, but I suppose when the foam starts to kick in, it will be really fun, like a gigantic bubble party. 🙂

Water fun at POLW

My son although was excited about the place, he was still quite hesitant to climb up and definitely you will need to bring your kids up the levels too, as there are water spraying out from the ground, so especially the little ones might get a little scare, but who am I kidding, they just dive back into the fun in no time.

As I reached there during noon, I could only play for one over hours, as my son start to feel tired with all the running and wanted to go to the hotel, I think this place can definitely let you stay there the whole day, may it be just soaking up the sun, or letting them have a blast, truly a very good place for families just to hang out.

Scenery outside POLW

So wrapping up everything and freshened up ourselves, we decided to walk back to the Beach Station, and along the way, we also found many pirates theme scenic locations.
