PULLMAN BAKERY AT MILLENIA WALK – HOKKAIDO SAPPORO BAKERY WITHOUT FLYING TO JAPAN

Hi there

My first encounter of Pullman was at a Hokkaido Fair at Tampines many years ago, nothing much changed, I still love to check out food fairs and still love to explore new eateries.

So during my hunting for japanese products at the fair, I saw this really long queue all for this Hokkaido curry buns. My husband loves curry buns, and so I managed to get for him, and I still remember his look, that one bite which brightens up his tired after work evening! ๐Ÿ™‚

The Hokkaido potato was generous and chunky with the spicy japanese curry sauce enveloped inside a freshly deep fried breaded bun. Heaven.

So thereafter I have always been very eager to wait for Hokkaido fair, because thatย was the only time I could get for my husband.

But after they have opened their first and only store at Millenia Walk, I have become a regular and will get it whenever I am at Millenia Walk. The stall carries a wide spread of Japanese pastries, bread, cakes and also sandwiches.

I have tried most of the items there, except the sandwiches because I find the pricing for the sandwiches was a tad steep, but for other pastry like pear danish, it is one of the best I tried in singapore.

Honestly, I personally feel their curry buns are not as good as I had in the past, especially from the Hokkaido Fair, however, they are still good compared to many places, very authentic japanese curry buns and not the localized version.

These days, I aim for other flavours, and the few that I love to get from them include their Chocolate Hokkaido Bread, only $2 something for half a loaf, my son’s favourite, little morsels of chocolates wrapped around this big loaf of chocolate bread, and with a sugary crusty chocolate coating, we can polish it off in one sitting.

Others include the handmade madeleine cakes, which is my favourite, every pack of 4 is tied up so sweetly with a ribbon, great for gifts or pair it with a cup of hot tea.

Oh for the kids out there, do try their apple bun, the bread is slightly sweet and comes with generous amount of cooked apple. My son love to pick out the apples and slowly savor it. ๐Ÿ™‚

They bread average is slightly pricier than local bakery but not as expensive as the French bakery, around $2 plus for 1 piece. But judging it base on their quality, I still feel it is worth the cost, the only thing that deter me to frequent them more often will only be the accessibility of it. ๐Ÿ™‚
