Come Valentine’s Day, one popular kind of recipe must be Chocolate Fondue, but not many people knows just how quick and simple you can whip up a Chocolate fondue for that someone special.

Okay, fine, my someone special besides my husband, will be my little boy, so I did add a little cute children stuff to it. But please do try this out, and you will find this Chocolate fondue recipes is not only versatile, but also definitely a crowd pleaser or a great sweet end to your romantic candle light dinner. πŸ™‚

Ingredients is simple, basics you will just need :

  • Chocolate (semi sweet / sweet / dark / chocolate bars / chocolate chips) – anything you like, I choosed semi sweet chocolate chips x 150g
  • FreshΒ cream x 100ml
  • Water x 2 tablespoon

* Don’t worry if you are unsure about your qty, you can just add in as & when. πŸ™‚

Also if you want to add some booze, you can also add in, but just a little only. Like sweet dessert wine.

Things to go with the chocolate fondue

  • Marshmallows
  • Tin Can Mandarin Orange
  • Strawberries – I choosed Korean strawberries as Shop n Save was having offer
  • Banana
  • Apple

Directions :

1) Pour fresh cream in non stick saucepan and heat up till bubbles start to appear – turn to low fire immediately

2) Pour in all the chocolate chips or bar and mix it gently

3) Once both ingredients are combined, if it is a little too thick, just add in water, if not remain as it is. Pour into your fondue bowl.

4) Diced up all the fruits you have and dip it to enjoy!

For apples, to avoid discoloration, soak it into salted water after dicing it.

I myself, like fruits to go with chocolate fondue, so I didn’t prepare any other things like biscuits or sponge or pound cake, but if you want something more filling, please do try these ingredients out too πŸ™‚

  1. Hi, This is a great recipe! Would like to ask you will the consistency of the chocolate remain as it is without the constant heating or does it harden after a while?

    1. Hi Yvonne
      With the candle below, it actually stay velvety smooth for quite sometime. It won’t harden but can be slight pasty if you do not use the candle. However this recipe didn’t use pure chocolate alone for the base, you can actually adjust its consistency, if you don’t plan to use fondue set or candle, then just add a little more cream and it should remain smooth even if it is left cold πŸ™‚
