QUICK & SIMPLE HEALTHY RECIPES – CABBAGE & PORK STEW IN BONITO STOCK

The recent rainy seasons have called for some comfort home cook food, lately as I am always running out of time, I decided to cook up something that requires very little supervision, very healthy and of course tasty. 🙂

The ingredients are very simple, all you need is really a few things. 🙂

Ingredients include :

  • 1 pack of pork belly
  • 1 cabbage cut into 4 sections
  • 1 pack of bonito powder (which can easily bought from daiso), you can also opt to use chicken stock or ikan bilis stock as well

** mustard as condiments if you prefer

Directions :

1) Cut cabbage into 4 sections and stuffed the pork belly in between the cabbage leaves

2) Place these cabbages into a pot and sprinkle the bonito powder with 2 cups of water and let it boil on high heat

3) Once the stock is boiled, turn into low heat and let it simmer for 15 mins

Serve with some yellow mustard if you have, it is kind of like Oden which is Japanese Yong Tofu (perhaps?), add a lot of flavor to it.

So it is simple, quick to cook, healthy, affordable and tasty, what more do you ask for? haha.. Oh by the way, my ex flatmates use to cook this a lot when they want to loose weight, they will either put pork slices or fish slices, both are equally good!
