QUICK & SIMPLE RECIPES – CHEESE FONDUE RECIPES FOR PARTY IDEAS

Hi there,

I recently got this really cool fondue set from groupon, paid only a fraction of the price for it. I have always wanted to make cheese fondue or chocolate fondue at home during weekends for a leisure dinner.

So imagine when I got this home, all brimming with excitement 🙂

Cheese Fondue with Crusted Bread

Okay, first mission is to make my first ever fondue with this little kitchen gadget.

This fondue set comes with a fondue bowl, a holder, 4 fondue forks and a candle to warm up the fondue throughout the whole meal. The recipe is very simple and you can also change to your favourite ingredients to go with the fondue.

The fondue flavor can be changed to your favourite cheese too, as it is my first time making it, wanted to opt for something lighter.

Cheese Fondue with Sausage

Ingredients I got for the fondue party which can feed 5 people includes:

  • Tays frozen sausage x 2 packs (pan fried or grilled in oven)
  • Carrots x 2 (cut into slices or cubes & boil in salt water)
  • Broccoli x 1 (cut & boil in salt water)
  • Bagguet or “pillow bread” or any kind of crusty bread x 1 loaf (cut into cubes)

Fondue ingredients :

  • Half pack of philadelphia cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 150gram of cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup of Apple juice (please use white wine if there are no kids eating this, I substitute with apple juice and is very suitable for kids)
  • Flour x 1 teaspoon
  • Pepper
  • 1 crushed garlic (optional)

Directions :

  1. On low heat, mix 1/2 cup of milk with philadephia cream cheese and cheddar cheese with flour & garlic until it is bubbly.
  2. Pour in apple juice or white wine.
  3. Flavor it with pepper to taste
  4. Transfer to the fondue bowl and light up the candle below
  5. Enjoy!

You might not want to add salt to the fondue because the cheddar cheese is quite salty already.

I have also seen this japanese recipe where they use camerbert cheese as the fondue holder, just sliced a cross sign on the cheese, wrapped the outer layer with aluminium foil and oven baked until melt. pour in a few sppon of white wine and salt to taste. Simple n delicious!

Next on the menu, or rather dessert menu, Chocolate fondue with fruits 🙂 It will be great recipe to share with your kids too!
