Today was supposed to visit CoCo Curry Ichibanya at 313@ Somerset. But when we reached there at around 11am, there was already a ridiculously long queue snaking right in front of the restaurant. My husband and I was comtemplating if we should wait just like the rest, but with my son in tow, decided to take a rain check…
The crowd that was in queue was mostly made up of Japanese and locals, I think many Japanese over here must really miss their hometown curry.
Anyway, CoCo Curry Ichibanya in Singapore is a small joint, my estimate is that it can sit less than 100 people in there, hidden at the corner at Basement 3, right in front of Cold Storage Specialty, located at the store which was used to be a French bakery that sell their bakery by weight.
Yesterday was their first day of opening, and with this, they celebrate with an opening special, from 2 – 4 Oct, all CoCo Curry are going for 30% off.
But don’t worry if you miss out the above promotion, because from 5 Oct – 30 Nov 2011, all will be at 10% off as well.
I know I will definitely be going back to try it out, and review their curry, but at this time, where the queue is just too super long, I might just hold back a little, wouldn’t want my first CoCo curry meal to be a rushing affair.
