RESTAURANTS REVIEW – TAWANDANG MICROBREWERY & PROMOTIONS

Hi there,

I met up with some friends sometime ago for some gathering, and we have chosen Tawandang Microbrewery as we had heard quite a lot about it, and I always passed by wondering if the food is good.

They claimed they are the most famous and successful restaurant in Thailand, by pairing original German beer (Lager / Weizen / Dunkel) with modern Thai cuisine. With good food, smooth beer & live bands, I understand why the crowds keep coming.

As we didn’t drink that night, we have opted for ordering some of the signature dish that they recommended.

tom yum soup

tom yum

Spicy Tom Yum soup with Coconut Milk – it was flavourful, with a balance kick of tangyness + spicyness, the seafood were fresh and was very appetizing, as it comes in mini steamboat stove, it still remains piping hot throughout the meal

pork knuckle

Deep Fried Pork Knuckle served with Spicy Sauce – I like the spicy sauce that goes with the pork knuckle, sweet + sour + spicy. The Pork Knuckle was tender & the skin was crispy enough, so it compliments the spicy sauce well. The mash potato taste great as a side dish.

fried rice

Fried Rice – Loaded some carbo along the way, I resent fried rice that were a bit soggy or taste like sticky rice, so I like this as the grains did not stick together & was fragrant, great to go with the tom yum soup. The veges in it added some crunch to the rice.

chilli fish

This is a fish dish, which was seabass being deep fried and was drizzle with some spicy sauce, not my favourite, but my friends like it a lot

assorted sausages

Mixed grill sausages – I love this dish, it will taste fantastic if you pair it up with beer, the sausages were nicely grilled, and eat it with the mash potato, with a little bit of mustard, you will not believe you are actually eating Thai food.

Their signature dish also include Sauteed Morning Glory ; Grilled Seabass with Salt served with Spicy Seafood Sauce.

The live band did a great job in entertaining the customers, they belted out songs after songs, with good vocals, the waiter & waitress also did their part in the entertaining, dancing & singing together to some of the old school songs, it seems like not only the customers were having a good time, so are they, which make the evening even more memorable.
