RIVE GAUCHE PATISSERIE – A SPECIAL TREAT FOR EVERY OCCASION

Hi there,

Since Christmas is coming, you probably be scrambling as what to get this Christmas for your bosses, or your friends’ parties, or even your own house party. To me, it can be rather difficult sometimes to gauge what other people like, but when it comes to food, it can be much easier for you and the one receiving it (of course it got to be good to start off with).

Rive Gauche Patisserie Variety of Cakes

Cracking our heads wondering what to bring to the party, here may be a solution to your problems. Desserts anyone? End the festive feasting with a sweet note. 🙂

Rive Gauche Patisserie Counter

You will be quite lost when you see what the cakes they offer, mont blanc, strawberry shortcake, swiss roll, fruits tarts etc. They also have macaroons and also crepes, so you really are spoilt for choices 🙂

Rive Gauche Patisserie Packaging

My order of cakes comes in a cute little blue box, and inside every cake box, they enclosed an ice pack which will keep the cakes cold. (by the way, the ginger bread man cost $2 and was a gift I got for my son, it actually tasted pretty good, not overly sweet with a good hint of cinnamon, and the decorations really cracks me up too, hee hee..)

The ice pack works well, especially in singapore, the use of this ice pack make a big different in our hot climate. Each cake cost around $6 each slice and comes in decent size.

Rive Gauche Patisserie Chocolate Cake

Guanaja is a chocolate cake with french top quality bitter sweet chocolate mousse with double layers of chocolate sponge. There is also a very delightful bottom layer of crispy crunch. Practically choco overload, but with choco overload, comes satisfaction guaranteed too. Every time I go to Rive Gauche, I will get this because my husband always rave about it and we all love the crunch, not many cakes we ate has so much choco crunch in it, and the chocolate is really to die for, please both who has or without a sweet tooth.

Rive Gauche Patisserie Napolean

My all time favourite is always Napolean, Frenchstyle puff pastry with light sponge and cream is something that is so hard to resist. And you know how much I always rave about Flor’s Napolean cake, and said I cannot find anywhere any close to compare to theirs?

This fact still doesn’t change a bit. The one I had from Rive Gauche has very nice pastry, but theirs lack some balance in the sponge and cream, I felt the cream althou was light but proportion was way too much compare to the sponge and pastry. The pastry itself is nice but somehow a little soggy, rather than crispy.

Rive Gauche Patisserie Oreo Cheesecake

Oreo cookies cheese cake score better. 🙂  The oreo base is crunchy and not very thick, the cheesecake itself is quite flavorful and smooth, with bits of oreo sandwiched in between, topped with generous sprinkles of oreo crumble, it tasted both savory and sweet at the same time, great for afternoon tea with your cuppa of tea.

Rive Gauche Patisserie various cakes

All in all, I think Rive Gauche serve pretty decent cakes, but my favourite still lies in their chocolate cakes, which is consistently good. But of course if you aim is to cheer everyone up with some pretty looking desserts, pick the crowd favourite guaranja and also some either colorful slices to your order.
