During the time when you were sick, do you sometimes have that urge to get some “heaty” snacks or even, some drastic measures prompted you to wanting to down some alcohol to “neutralize” the bad stuff in your body? Ok, sometimes I am guilty as charged. But this time round, I went just a little easier on myself.
Having been sick for 2 weeks, regaining my taste buds seemed to be such a blessing! So there I was, checking out Watson with my colleague, and chanced upon this Pop corn, put me in a instant happy mood with the all-so-colorful packaging. It looks very Japanese, but at fraction of the price, what’s more it is called the Super Mix 5 Pop Corn, even more alluring for me to find out just how super it is. 🙂
This so called Super Mix 5 Pop Corn is actually made in Korea, but with all the Japanese words all over the container, one would really mistaken it as some Japanese snack. All it cost me was $2.
It states each pop corn cup contains 5 flavours of pop corn, which is Grape (pink) / Banana (dark yellow) / Chocolate (Brown) / Butter (light yellow) / Salt (White). So arming with this colorful snack, I told myself, I got to recover soon so that I can embark on this little pop corn journey. 🙂
So there I was, keep it for weeks and finally is time!
But there is just one tiny little problem – this pop corn cup has this tricky bit, you got to finish all at one go, since the cover is sort of like those adhesive cup noodles kind, where once open, and you can never seal it back.
However once opened, you can find morsels of light pop corn with various pastel colors. Nothing close to the packaging actually but nevetheless pleasing to the eyes.
The pop corn have this mild sweet scent, something buttery something fruity because of the multiple flavors mixture in it.
Taste wise, I will say it is fairly mild just like how it smell like 😛
I tried each flavor one by one, and the most flavorful ones is still the butter flavor. Next I like is the banana flavor, sort of like a banana essence coating on the pop corn, whereas my colleagues like the grape one. (may be because it is pink). Salty one will be the usual salted pop corn you can get in the cinema.
Overall, I have no qualsms about it, given this big cup cost $2, and is something different, compared to the usual potato chips or chocolate bars. It also seemed to be a healthier option as well. But of course, this might not 100% your hope of having a sugar rush or cravings for a salty snack.
I also saw another cheese flavour that comes in a yellow cup, it should be the savory kind and a big contrast to this.
Of course if you prefer to have something that gives more kick, you might not like this, and might prefer to go for Garretts instead, with full flavor. But to me, it might just be something good to start off with after a long period of tidbits-free weeks. 🙂
