Hi there
I saw Meidiya Japanese supermarket selling Tokoroten and thought of trying it out since I technically never really try this stuff before although I have heard so much about it.
Tokoroten is a jelly extract from seaweed and is popular with the Japanese ladies because it has literally no calories and is apparently good for health too.
Tokoroten
This time round, this box of Tokoroten comes with a vinegar dressing, so it will be good to make it an appetizer. 🙂
At $2.80 per box, it comes with the tokoroten, dressing and a pack of roasted sesame and seaweed to sprinkle on it.
These tokoroten has a jelly like texture, which means you will need to slurp them all up. before it starts to breaks apart.
I like the vinegar dressing that comes with it, as I a very vinegar kind of person, it reminds of the vinegar seaweed that I like too. Moromizu.
I think I can also live on this if I were to really need to loose some weight, because this can either be made in a side dish or a dessert as well. Itself has not much flavour to it, but it really depends on how you want to dress it up. 🙂
TOKOROTEN – NICE ON YOUR TASTE BUDS, EVEN NICER ON YOUR WAISTLINE
