If you have been checking out my ramen post, you will see I had some really nice ramen at Ichiran, which is very famous in Tokyo and Hong Kong. During that time, I thought I will be extra nice to my husband, so I bought their bring home pack, so I can cook it at home at my own time. 🙂
However, I accidentally got the wrong one, and instead of soupy ramen, I got myself dry ramen, which means is like mee pok, you cook the noodles then drizzle the sauce over it. I thought I was doomed!!! How can I eat ramen like that since the soup means every thing to me… Â And guess what, this disaster ended up with a fantastic result!!! Wohooo!!
I tried to cook it just like regular ramen, with regular ingredients that I can find from the fridge, like pork belly, spring onions and eggs and actually some bamboo shoot snack which is so convenient to add to ramen. Fairly simple, just cook and place it on top.
Ramen cooking also pretty standard, boil in hot water, you can choose to run the noodles through cold water to give it al dente texture to it, or just like me simply lazing through my weekend, just cook and mix.
The result, superb noodles and sauce, I thought the sauce will be very plain, but it turned out really tasty,every strand of noodles are coated with the ramen “sauce”, it has the really savory pork flavored and I actually finished up a whole bowl of ramen even though I usually could not have done so! That is how good it is.
So next time when you are at Ichiran, remembered to get their take home pack, they are really really good. Yumm…..
