WILD HONEY SCOTTS SQUARE & MANDARIN GALLERY – LIQUID GOLD FOR THE WEEKENDS

Hi there,

This is one of my most favourite place to go out for weekend breakfast because this place is so good it seriously remind me of NZ cafe food but with better over the top ingredients.

All day breakfast is finally catching up in Singapore which is such an exciting food experience. A good breakfast goes a long way but a great breakfast set you on a rocket and fuel you along the way, haha 🙂

Wild Honey at Scotts Square & Mandarin Gallery

Wild honey has two outlets. One at Scotts Square and the other which is the original store is at Mandarin Gallery.

I personally prefered the Scotts Square branch as they take reservations and also it is brighter but the Mandarin Gallery branch is  cozier however the waiting time can be a pain too.

At Scott’s Square Wild Honey, you have a choice of alfresco or indoors seating. Take alfresco if you are okay with a little heat because it feels so nice in the morning, two thumbs up for the shiny morning breakast experience.

You might really want to make a reservation with Scotts Square because this place is hugely popular too, lucky us, as we were there early we only queued a while to get our seats.

You know what is the one thing in common that I found  with these two branches is the gorgeous beautiful staff who take down queue nos. Exude that sensual elegance which is so calming haha.. Good start to a good breakfast. :p (and I am not even saying it on behalf of my hubby haha)

Looking at their mouth watering menu is part & parcel of your experience there. 🙂

The drinks was okay, my iced chocolate which cost $6 taste a little water down especially with the melted ice, it just get blander towards the end of my brunch.

My husband who ordered his drink thought it was way too fruity to his likenings.

At Scotts Square outlet, there are muffins, cakes, cookies for sale too, so you can also take home some for weekday breakfasts. 🙂

And cakes that is placed just about the height of my son makes him all excited to go there. 🙂

For my European set ($18) , it comes with 2 thick brioche, sitting pretty are two eggs benedict with sauteed mushrooms, imported italian prosciutto.

Go with the home made hollandaise sauce, sinfully gooood. I just cut each piece of brioche and dipped into the wobbly yolk… Oh mine.

Next is the Santa Fe ($20), sounds so lovely, looks so lovely, taste with a punch!

Two fried eggs, sharp cheddar cheese, fresh tomato & green jalapeno salsa, chargrilled corn & fresh coriander on a warm tortilla, need I say anymore? Instant pick me up concoction for a lazy weekend. 🙂

As for my son, I have not given him any undercooked eggs yet, so I ordered extra bread and also roasted potatoes. ($3)

The bread basket ($12) is a tad pricy, but it does comes with very good bread slices, not even one of them I thought was not nice, all lightly and nicely toasted, spread with the jam preserves and butter over it generously is just splendid.

The roasted potatoes with thyme ($3) although is a side comes in this delightful golden color. There is this sight crunch and fluffiness inside. My son enjoyed it with ketchup on the side.

The food they serve are so colorful and well plate, okay you may say the breakfast is pricey but I think the portion and the taste compensate this.

My husband isn’t a breakfast person during that time ( now is a convert somehow haha) but he commented it was so good and declare wild honey is a must return breakfast place to be.

At Wild Honey over at Mandarin Gallery, you will expect dark decors, and comfy seats, makes you feel like staying there and just laze around.

We ordered Tunisian ($18) which comes with a sizzling pan that has this potent concoction of spicy shakshouka which is a combination of tomato, onion, red pepper & chilli. You can find chunks of chorizo sausages, sitting nicly next to couple of fried eggs. Dip their signature brioche and alternate bites with the cucumber tomato salad, so addictive!

I love portuguese sausages and chorizo sausages, as this adds so much savoriness onto the dish. I am starting to think if i can replicate this dish at home. 🙂

For my son, I chosed a French Toast breakfast for him, don’t be fooled by its plain look, this comes with some really good maple syrup and preserves and creme fraiche. What makes this dish tick is the fillings inside these thick brioche, there are fresh mango slices, hidden gem indeed. 🙂

For a change, ordered a hot chocolate instead, and it taste fabulous, thick creamy chocolate flavour, now is my son’s turn for the 2 thumbs up. 😀
