WINDOWSILL PIES – FABULOUS PIES LIKE NO OTHER

Hi there

This pie shop has been under my radar for soooo long, I have always wanted to go and get these windowsills pie for ages, you won’t believe how difficult it was for me to get it…

  • Attempted to go to Pandan Valley – Too far
  • Attempted to go to Robertson Flea Market – they decided not to continue
  • Contacted them to check which is their next selling location – Not known yet
  • Takashimaya temporary store – Found out only one day after it ended

Windowsills Pie

All these set back just make me wanted so much more of these…. ahh… pie craze start here. All I wanted was just a piece of very good pumpkin pie for my husband. My husband loves pumpkin pie, and it is very difficult to find in Singapore, so I could only make it myself on special occasion but because of these failed attempt, it just make me wanted so badly to get it.

Windowsills Pie

And while I was running some errands at Takashimaya recently, I was so absorbed by the orange pie keeping in the chiller in one of the temporary set up booth, and when I went near it, BINGO! Its Windowsill Pie!!!!

Finally!!! I was so excited to ask them how come they are still there in Takashimaya even though they should have ended long time ago, Music to my ears – “we have extended our rental period”. Whee!!!!

Windowsills Pie

Without even any second thoughts, I already dived right in to see what flavour available and managed to try out a few flavours too. Eventually as I was carrying a lot of stuff, I settled with only 3 slices of the pies. Even the utensils so cute!!

Windowsills Pie

Every two slices are packed in a nice white box which is flat enough to pack the pies in, if you are going for the whole pie, they even have more lovely looking box to pack it up. Just like a big Tiffany box but with pies. 🙂

Windowsills Pie

First off, Apple pie ($6.4+)

It is nothing much to shout about, not overly sweet, with generous amount of rasins, almond flakes, stewed apple slices, it is more like a little cinnamon roll but with tonnes of goodies. I feel it lacked some oomph, may be because the apples didn’t have a tart edge which somehow defines apple pie.

Windowsills Pie

Lemon Strawberry tart ($6.4)

Tart with a natural hint of lemon citrus sweetness which lingers even after it disolves in your mouth, the tart pasty was neither hard nor flaky, good amount of thickness. The topping meringue cream taste like BBQ marshmallow which goes very well with the refreshing lemon citrus flavour , definitely one of the better ones I have tried, as other can be artificially sweet.

Windowsills Pie
Pumpkin pie with Bourbon Cream ($6.4+)

This pumpkin pie has the right amount of sweet and saltiness to it, pastry is thin and the bourbon whip which has this light infusion of bourbon is really one of the better ones I have tried. Although I m not a fan of pumpkin pie, I actually like it and went for a second bite too. My husband the pumpkin pie critic gave it a stamp of approval. 🙂

Windowsills Pie

And if you have difficulty finishing the pies in one seating (which I doubt you will 🙂 ), they have storage & reheating instructions just for you. 🙂

Windowsills Pie

Price can be a little steep for pies, if price at around $4-5, it could be more value for money but again not many place to get good pie, so I am still okay the price range they set. If only their store location is not as far….
