Recently I have been having a lot of mochi, since New Year, may it be using it in steam boat, grilling it for Japanese New Year, or just satisfying my sweet tooth with some prepacked mochi.<\/p>\n

And to my surprise this year, on White Day which is one month after Valentine’s Day, I got a big box of Mochi Sweets from several people who wanted to thank me for the Valentine’s Day chocolates that I gave to them, this White Day just got extra special! Yeah! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

So armed with my mochi fiesta, I was soooo looking forward to see just why this luxurious mochi sweets is getting heads turning these days.<\/p>\n

Honestly speaking, the first time I came across them at Bugis+, I thought their pricing was exorbintant, for a small piece of mochi to be charged at near $3, I was quite surprise, but come to think about it, these days the inflation are really going rounds huh, even a slice of decent cakes also set me back to $7 each, so I guess this $3 looks suddenly very attractive…<\/p>\n

Alright back to this Mochi Sweets, which they have specially flown in from Japan, you can either order it chilled or frozen. Frozen is when you need to bring it back home, while chilled will be more of the “I am going to eat you up now” moment.<\/p>\n

Flavour wise, it has quite a good variety of flavour.<\/p>\n

• Cream Chocolate $2.50<\/li>\n
• Purple Potato $2.50<\/li>\n
• Strawberry $2.50<\/li>\n
• Peach Cream $2.50<\/li>\n
• Green Tea $2.50<\/li>\n
• Blueberry Cream $2.80<\/li>\n
• Sakura $2.80<\/li>\n
• Chestnut Cream $2.80<\/li>\n
• Mango Yoghurt $2.80<\/li>\n
• Black Chocolate $2.80<\/li>\n
• Black Sesame $2.80<\/li>\n
• Red Bean $2.50<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  After placing the order, the mochi will be packed in an ultra chic packaging, with a really nicely designed paper which states all flavours on it.<\/p>\n

  <\/a><\/p>\n

  That way, you won’t mess up your flavours. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

  <\/a><\/p>\n

  Now, looking at these irresistable mochi, I have nothing but one thing to say – “cannot stop at one – seriously”.<\/p>\n

  <\/a><\/p>\n

  I cut the mochi into half, so that you can see the fillings in it.<\/p>\n

  <\/a><\/p>\n

  Every mochi has this really nice chewy texture that is not overly sweet, which I like a lot, the chewiness was just right.<\/p>\n

  <\/a><\/p>\n

  In every fillings, you can find not just one kind of fillings in it, it seems like the fillings are 2 layered, with two different flavours in it to enhance the overall flavours.<\/p>\n

  <\/a><\/p>\n

  Some fillings are more liquid like\u00a0the mango yogurt, but some are more firm like the caramel macchiato. Just a low down on how I feel in each flavour<\/p>\n

• Caramel Macchiato $2.50 – nice coffee aroma, not bittery flavour, but a nice sweet nutty coffee flavour to it<\/li>\n
• Cream Chocolate $2.50 – good for children, as it is a slighty sweet chocolate flavour<\/li>\n
• Purple Potato $2.50 – one of my favourite, you can taste the nice sweetness of the potato<\/li>\n
• Strawberry $2.50 – best, hands down, the strawberry infused mochi and the fillings are one of the best I have tried<\/li>\n
• Peach Cream $2.50 – a little artificial on the peach flavour<\/li>\n
• Green Tea $2.50 – pleasant green tea flavour, you won’t get the strong macha flavour which I like<\/li>\n
• Blueberry Cream $2.80 – a little sourish, similar to peach cream which taste a little artificial<\/li>\n
• Sakura $2.80 – one of my favourite, as it is made of pulut hitam<\/li>\n
• Chestnut Cream $2.80 – can’t really taste chestnut flavour in this<\/li>\n
• Mango Yoghurt $2.80 – one of the least I like, because the yogurt has such a soft fillings, and the mango syrup was a tad too sweet to my likings<\/li>\n
• Black Chocolate $2.80 – dark chocolate, good for people who do not like sweet chocolate flavour, with depth<\/li>\n
• Black Sesame $2.80 – one of my favourite, you can’t go wrong with this, definitely a must if you buy for elderly to try out<\/li>\n
• Red Bean $2.50 – decent flavour, nothing to shout about<\/li>\n

  These mochi if you buy it frozen, can be stored in the chiller for a good 3 days after you brought it home, I tried it on the 3rd day, and it still taste fabulous. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

  The reason why I can tell you so detailed even though I got this as a gift is because I eventually got myself another box! HAHAHA….<\/p>\n

  I got myself a small box of 6, and this is really aint bad. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

  <\/a><\/p>\n

  So do try it out, or if you want to get a gift for someone special, I am pretty sure, they will be delighted to get this as a gift, however, the tming is very important, because it is frozen, you really got to rush to give it to them before they start to sweat on its own, haha… \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
