Hi there

Whenever I am in Japan, I will always look out for beef tongue, either beef tongue stew , beef tongue yakitori and my favourite grill beef tongue.

I love beef tongue, it is not easy to eat it in singapore, and now isetan are selling beef tongue, I will tend to go over there to buy and either sauteed it with butter or even shabu shabu.

My love for beef tongue all stem from my uni days when I was working in the Yakitori bar in NZ, I always am really amazed by how the store manager prepare it, and how difficult it is to cook and prepare. And of course I just love the smoky grilled taste, if you can get past the whole tongue thing, this is really something that you will get hook on.

This place where it is right in Shinjuku train station served grilled beef tongue, and it is paired with some preserved cabbages and I was in luck that day, because I managed to be one of the first 50 people who can enjoy their daily special lunch set (yeah, squealing in delight). 🙂

For Yen 1500 I get to enjoy this full course. And it is fantastic. And I even end the meal with a mini ultra sweet water melon. (squeal again!!)

So if you are in Japan next time, do try to look out for restaurants that specialized in beef tongue, once you go beef tongue, you will never go back. 🙂

BEEF TONGUE DELICACIES – A MUST EAT WHEN YOU ARE IN JAPAN

For latest news on restaurants, supermarkets, food fairs, or simply check out some of my simple recipe ideas & reviews, please visit us at singaporesupermarketrecipes.com or subscribe to our mailing list for more details.
