My husband who went to his business trip, recommended this ramen joint in Tokyo, after doing a little research then he found out Ichiran serves Hakata ramen and is actually voted No. 2 champion in Japan. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

And I am tasked to try it out during my trip.<\/p>\n

There are quite a few branches in Tokyo, but we managed to go to the one at omotesando which is nearer to where we stay.<\/p>\n

Finding it can be easy if you have google map as it is located at the intersection of Omotesando.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

Once you reach there, you can see their announcement of Tokyo #2~!<\/p>\n

Ordering is really simple, because they have the vending machines, so you can see the picture and then slot in your yen and get the ticket to bring it into the restaurant.<\/p>\n

Menu is also pretty standard as well, cha siew yes \/ no, eggs yes\/no, more noodles yes\/no, etc.<\/p>\n

But after you have gotten your ticket, that’s where the fun begins, you actually can customized your noodles, like al dente or cooked thoroughly, you can choose spiciness of the soup and whether you want spring onions like the green or white section of it. Pretty cool stuff.<\/p>\n

They proclaimed they are the first ramen place where they introduce the red sauce, their special concoction of red chilli paste which can be mixed into the ramen soup.<\/p>\n

I recommend you to go for the mid range to be on the safe side. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

The seating over there is like those government center counter hahaha.. you get to sit by yourself with a small counter, and in front of you is a bamboo curtain. All you need to do is to slot the ticket which you purchased and then once your noodles are done, they will serve you through the curtain.<\/p>\n

Great setting if you go there yourself I may say and of course great for the ladies. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Don’t worry about them not having english options, they do. I guess many foreigners do patronize them.<\/p>\n

I ordered their infamous egg, and it comes with a wet towel (yes haha..), and a packet of salt.<\/p>\n

So it is recommended to actually shell the eggs and then dip into the salt and enjoy it.<\/p>\n

My husband who tried once kept telling me how good it was. For me, I thought it was okay, because I do prefer shoyu soup base, rather than tonkotsu (pork bones), and also I really do like thick cha siew, which is different from Ichiran.<\/p>\n

But I do like how you can customize your soup to give it so much more kick with the spiciness.<\/p>\n

Trying to be a good wife, and that’s why I did manage to get some for my husband so I can cook it at home after I am back to Singapore. You can order the instant pack right after you finished your meal. Can’t wait to see if I can cook up something close to what I have tried. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
