Hi there

I love these Yatsuhashi cookies from Japan, even though I am not a huge fan in cinnamon cookies. Got this as a gift, and I think I had managed to try this a few times when I have friends who go to Japan for holidays, sometimes they will get this because it comes with this really cute metal tin box.

These traditional cookies has a slight chewy texture and since it is dipped in chocolate coating, it gives a nice texture and just couple pieces and I am already very satisfied.

It has a really long history in Japan, and I think in Kyoto shop, it actually is over 200 years old.

These are also really good souvenirs which you can buy for your friends, as it comes in compact boxes.

There is also another version which comes in a triangular mochi, kind of wanton like :p, I personally prefer the hard cookie version which is really yummy and not as sweet. 🙂

JAPANESE TRADITIONAL GREEN TEA CINNAMON COOKIES YATSUHASHI

For latest news on restaurants, supermarkets, food fairs, or simply check out some of my simple recipe ideas & reviews, please visit us at singaporesupermarketrecipes.com or subscribe to our mailing list for more details.
