Hi there

After scoring some Wicked musical tickets, my next target is to check out any interesting dining places just before the show starts. Okay, something special it got to be, since it is not really any regular day where I can enjoy some quality time, just myself with another mummy. So after doing a little research, we decided to settle for Pizzeria Mozza. 🙂

I must say thinking a place to eat at Marina Bay Sands can be mind boggling, one is because how expensive the restaurant places can be, and another is just how far you got to walk from one end to the other! But not that I am complaining because I got to see many interesting looking cafes, food places along the way. 🙂

Alright back to Pizzeria Mozza, it is no regular Pizza Joint, (okay, apart from the price tag), they have this really cool European vibe exudes from every corner and decor of the restaurant. It is headed by New York’s Italian food maestro Mario Batali and LA’s celebrity pastry chef Nancy Silverton and judging how diners were happily chomping down their food, I know we are off to a good start. 🙂

Inside the restaurant, you can get to sit at tables or at the counter, I actually recommend you to sit at the counter because you can get all the Live Action there, there are lines of chef stretching pizza right in front of your eyes. Over here, you do not see any flipping or twirling of pizzas as they only stretch it to create that unique texture in the pizza crust, so you can say they are quite unique on its own.

Once you were seated comfortably, you will be “served with an envelope” literally, an envelope with cutlery that’s it. 🙂

Instead of some plain bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, you get these paper thin cheesy & herb pizza crisp. Oh so addictive and whet your appetite for something major to come!

You can see the place is bumping, half of the diners are foreigners, that is a really good sign indeed. 🙂

While waiting for your pizza, you can check out some interesting facts on pizzas, trains, and things you can Thank Italian for! haha..

As it was our first time here, we checked with the waitress and she told us it will be better to order 2 appetizers and 1 pizza, many diners actually can finish up 1 pizza by themself too! but variety is the what we were looking for 🙂

Our first appetizer is Wings Diavola ($18) which comes with 3 perfectly marinated and grilled wings, one of the best part is that the grilled and marinates soaked up spring onions, how ironic is that huh?

The wings was really succulent and every bite was such a delightful surprise, the meat was so infused with savory and smoky flavours and so tender so that I can tear it apart with my hands. But at $6 a wing, I told myself it is still too steep for me to try a second time, good but not the best.

But nothing compares to Clams Al Forno ($18), even though it comes in such a tiny portion, but this really blew me away because it definitely packs a whole BIG punch! It only comes with a few clams, cooked perfectly and soaked with fantastic high quality olive oil and fresh herbs. They don’t call olive oil liquid gold for nothing. 🙂

Two rustic toast strategically placed on the clams with a drizzle of salsa calabrese all over the toast, the clams were fresh, but nothing beats how tasty the olive oil actually was – Hands down winner.

A must order next time I am there. The best part of this dish is that after clearing up the clams, you get to infuse the rustic toast with the oh so good olive goodness, the crunchy combination of the toast and the depth of the olive oil goodness lay multiple dimensions in this dish. A must try for all clams lovers.

And finally, came the highlight for our dinner, Ah.., the Pizza, there are 18 kinds of pizzas to choose from, and we have ordered a Prosciutto de Parma Pizza ($31), which is always my favourite.

Fresh rockets layered with generous slices of prosciutto ham, sitting nicely on a piece of crispy thin crust base, and drizzle with generous amount of liquid golden olive oil.

The pizza crust is slightly chewy yet very light in texture but give such a good contrast to the saltiness of the prosciutto ham.

The freshness of the rockets give it a slight bitterness yet delicate minty flavor, which felt like a refreshing treat in every bite. The tasty dough actually took 3 days to prepare and stretched to create this chewy texture.

You can check out their menu below 🙂

ANTIPASTI

CARNE

INSALATE

BRUSCHETTE

PANINI

PIATTO DEL GIORNO

PIZZA

DOLCI

SORBETTI & GELATI

Gelati

Choose up to 3 flavors $8

VINI DOLCI

* Menus and wine lists are representative only and certain items may change based on availability.

They are also very famous for their desserts, too bad, we did not try it out, but given the quality of the main courses and appetizers, I don’t foresee I will be disappoint either.

Overall, is it pricey? YES it is..

Is it good? YES YES it is really good..

Will I still come back for more? YES YES YES, definitely. Given the ambience, you actually feel like you are in another country while you dine over there, and I really don’t mind to have another “mini holiday” again at Pizzeria Mozza.

RESTAURANT REVIEWS : PIZZERIA MOZZA AT MARINA BAY SANDS

Locations : 10 Bayfront Avenue #B1-42 The Shoppes At Marina Bay Sands Singapore 018956

Tel : 66888522

Happy Dining!

For latest news on restaurants, supermarkets, food fairs, or simply check out some of my simple recipe ideas & reviews, please visit us at singaporesupermarketrecipes.com or subscribe to our mailing list for more details.

Cheers,

Dawn

Hi there After scoring some Wicked musical tickets, my next target is to check out any interesting dining places just before the show starts.
