QUICK & SIMPLE RECIPE IDEAS – JAPANESE BBQ PORK SALAD WITH DAISO DRESSING

Hi there,

I would like to write up this “really really” quick & simple recipe ideas, and when I mentioned really simple, I literally mean it! I was unsure if this falls into Japanese or Korean recipe, coz it combines both elements from this countries cuisine.

This recipe is one of my husband favourite, actually my family likes it too. It is very light even thou you are using BBQ pork because there are so many greens in there, it actually taste like a very savory dish but in salad form, as for me, I particularly love this recipe, because you can really finish cooking this in less than 10mins!

What you will need to cook this is, ingredients :

  • Frozen pork belly x 2 packs (or 1, as 2 packs can serve 4 – 5 people)
  • Spring Onions x 1 bunch (4 stalks)
  • Corriander x 1 bunch (4 stalks)
  • 1 Daiso BBQ pork sauce (Salt Flavor)

BBQ pork sauce (salt flavor)

I love this Daiso BBQ pork sauce, it is a blend of garlic, black pepper & lemon. So there is this zesty garlicy & spicy flavor to it. You can use this as a dipping sauce, for like steamboat or BBQ too. What’s more, it only cost $2 from Daiso, it is really practically a steal!

Directions :

1)  Chopped up spring onions, corriander & slice cucumber thinly

2)  Sliced the pork belly in half (use scissors to cut across the packaging so you will get 2 halfs of the packet of the pork belly, the lesser dishes to wash the better it is) & pan fry at high heat on a non stick pan with a little of olive oil until slight crispy.

3) Turn off the heat. Pour the mixture of spring onions, corriander & cucumber slices over the BBQ pork.

4) Dizzle with Daiso BBQ pork sauce & sprinkle some sesame seeds.

You can also boil the pork belly instead of frying it, but what I do is that I maintain the frying, but using high heat during cooking, then I will scoop out any oil extracted from the pork belly, so the pork belly will be very much less greasy and also crisp up pretty well.

This is great for mains or as sides, of course this will goes very well with beer too. So cook this quick & simple recipe & charm your friends or family in under 10 mins!

Happy Cooking!
