313@SOMERSET JAPANESE ITALIAN FOOD – DOLCE TOKYO

Hi there

I just found out I have yet to post Dolce Tokyo even though I have been there for a long time ago (horror!) Talk about backlogs. 🙂

Well, this post brought me to Dolce Tokyo, the Italian Japanese cafe which was suppose to serve some really mean desserts and also cafe food.

I decided to try it out as it is close to my work place.

The interior design is sleek and very Japanese with lots of decorations that transport you to another place from the hustle and bustle of the city.

They have quite an extensive menu, and also set menu but I personally find that all of them are priced rather steep.

And how can I miss out my favourite Macha latte if I see it on the menu 🙂

This matcha latte is really tasty, with the right amount of matcha flavour and not overly creamy, two thumbs up, but that is probably the only thing I like about Dolce Tokyo at 313@Somerset unfortunately.

I ordered a healthy hisashi ramen which loosely translate as cold ramen, with toppings such as ham, eggs, carrots, cucumbers, pickled radish and ginger slices.

I find the combination so odd, as the preserved radish pickles flavour is so strong, it does not match the delicate sesame dressing flavour. The ginger slices was a hassle seriously, they were not sliced thinly and so chunky and spicy, I have to literally take all out bits by bits.

Oh, but we also did order mushroom soup, which is not too bad, with generous topping of almond flakes, however I also have tried better ones elsewhere too. 🙂

As I ordered matcha latte, so the meal was a tad too filling for me and I skipped desserts well heard the desserts is good but also quite steep in price. Hmm.. may be next time when my confidence is back. 🙂
