DAISO 100% LEMON JUICE EXTRACT – LEMON IN A BOTTLE PRODUCT REVIEWS

Hi there

My first encounter with lemon extract was when I was browsing the supermarkets in Japan, I was checking out all the condiments and spices available and discovered this little cute yellow bottle that looked like a lemon, at that time, I could not read much Japanese so was only guessing it is something to do with lemons or citrus fruits .

Daiso Lemon Juice

And when I saw it here at Daiso, I was delighted to see it again, it is indeed a lemon extract, and what’s more it is now in a ultra cute packaging, even my son didn’t want to let it go when I took it out. 🙂

In Japan, when I order a ice lemon tea, they will give me sachets of lemon juice instead of cut lemon slices, so I guess instant lemon juice is quite common there which kind of tempt me to try it out and see how it will taste like if I were to use it in my cooking. 🙂

Daiso 100% Lemon Juice extract

So there I was, got one bottle from Daiso, price at $2, I told myself to try it out, because some of my cooking actually involves quite a bit of lemon juice and many times, I find myself not having it in my fridge. So this really comes in handy.

Daiso 100% Lemon Juice extract

This little bottle of lemon juice is pure 100% lemon extract without any preservatives, so you will need to store in the fridge and discard it after two weeks, I am still testing it out and see if this can be kept beyond two weeks thou, since I store it in the fridge.

On the packaging itself, it states in Japanese that you will find the juices become cloudy and that is about time for you to chuck the bottle away.

“Application” is simple, there is a piece of plastic so rather than pouring it over the food, you kind of sprinkle it, droplets of lemon juice will drip out to prevent for any disaster of over indulgence.  🙂

Taste wise, it is just as good as lemons, there is this tart after taste. You know how for real lemons, sometimes you will get that tarty bitter aftertaste? For this, it is not as sour as lemon juice, but also it does not have that bitterness too.

Of course you also could not expect any strong citrusy taste just like the real lemons, but it sure do the job nicely.

Daiso 100% Lemon Juice extract

Besides using this for cooking like many Alfredo pasta, I also use it to make my lemon cola. Taste great and so much more easy, just like shaking pepper into my soup 🙂

Daiso 100% Lemon Juice extract

As I still left about half a bottle with me, may be I can make some desserts that will require lemon juice 🙂 like lemon cheese cake, with lemon tea or fried lemon chicken cutlets! 🙂
