I always walk pass this Japanese sweet shop at Takashimaya, however as I find their pricing is a bit steep, I have yet to try it out. The last time I have tried this was back in Japan, and I find it resemble Kueh Lapis 🙂

Juchheim Buamkuchen

Japanese love this Baumkuchen which is a kind of traditional German cake, behind this brand actually lies a very sad story and the shape of it is quite auspicious to them too, so it is very popular to buy as gift in Japan.

Juchheim Buamkuchen Takashimaya

These Baumkuchen is make of quality wheat flour, sugar, egg and butter, and baker painstakingly have to layer it on layer by layer on a baking rod. Yes, I did stand there for a good few mins just to check it out. 🙂
