Over school holidays, it is always nice to spend some quality time with the family, and this year we decided to stay one night at Hard Rock Hotel after our fabulous stay at Festive Hotel at Resort World Sentosa couple of months ago. 🙂
The last stay of 3D2N at Festive Hotel was so impressive that we just couldn’t wait to see how Hard Rock Hotel can bring this time.
Of course, the biggest reason for me to stay there is their really good pool, the man-made sand beach is definitely on my cards this time round, so that I could bring my son to rock & roll there. 🙂
The whole of Hard Rock Hotel at Resort World Sentosa concept is of course Hard Rock, so you will find lots of glitz and dark decor which a Rock Star like you can enjoy while you stay with them.
Even the interior of the lift are decorated with lots of sparks, welcoming you for yet another unforgettable experience there. 🙂
Hard Rock Hotel is so different from Festive Hotel, I know Festive Hotel is more family oriented, but I really thought it wouldn’t be that much far off from it.
But I was quite wrong actually, from the decorations down to the furniture, their color scheme resolves in black and purple, so it is not as bright and cheery like Festive, but nevertheless my family are still quite excited to stay there.
On the walls of Hard Rock Hotel, there are blown up pictures of legendary rockers and musicians, just add on to the Rock & Roll ambience to the hotel.
If you have been to Hard Rock Cafe, this is kind of like that but with a much bigger scale. You can find costume which musicians has worn before and memorabilia at many corners of the hotel, even every floor of the hotel rooms are full of these too.
And once you entered the Hard Rock Hotel room, you will be greeted by this black & purple color theme room that is an extension of the hall way.
This time round, I opted for twin beds just to see how big the bed is, and I must say I was not disappointed, as my son was with us, I decided to have him sleep in the middle rather than the pull out bed, so we pushed 2 bed together and form this gigantic bigger -than-king size bed. Fabulous 🙂
I like the design of the room very much, as the color coordination is one of my favourite. They also have comfortable seatings for you to rest your feet.
There are various light settings to play around with too, mini chandeliers encrusted with crystal that just add up all the oomph factor.
Back at Festive Hotel, there was this loft bed and also sofa bed available, and all the while I thought Hard Rock Hotel might not have it, but I was very wrong again, they have this pull out bed under the bed and it is huge too!
The usual ammenities are available, like LCD TV and TV entertainment. But I must say the sound system in the room is pretty amazing. When my son was watching cartoon, the sound is so realistic, and I could the surround sound around the room.
But seriously they do not call themselves Hard Rock Hotel for nothing. 🙂 And it involves with quite a bit of music besides the surround sound in the room.
There is this Iphone dock for you to blast music at your own room. Don’t even need to bring along my charger, Yeah
Thanks to the very nice front desk lady, I was able to secure a room facing the swimming pool, what a nice relaxing view. So surreal.
Mini Bar include drinks like juices and soda hovering around $6 – $7, while snacks like nuts is at $4.
One thing I really like about the hotels at Resort World Sentosa is that they provide enough bottled water so we do not need to go and boil or get more distilled water for consumption. And Hard Rock is really the generous one, 5 bottles at one go.
Although mini bar is well.. mini. But it is fully packed with what you need if you do not intend to walk down to the nearest 7Eleven.
Internet access is of course available, but at a price though.
When we check in, we were given the Spa Republic vouchers which is the same like Festive Hotel, you might want to ask them in advance for some Sentosa ride tickets too, as you can make use of it and go to Vivo and back without having to fork out another transportation fees.
However what surprise me is they also give you a free playlist to download for free, access code are being given. Now it just make sense how they want to pamper you to be the next Rock & Roll star. 🙂
In room ammenities is quite different when it comes to the slippers, instead of those flimsy kind, you will get the proper rubber beach going slippers instead, which you can wear and head down to the beach.
If you wanted to just chill out, besides in your room, they also have live bands as well, which I suspect is for the evenings.
Or you can head down to buy yourself some Hard Rock Hotel souvenirs to bring a piece of memory home.
And now.. comes the bathroom, one of the thing that I am very peculiar on.
Hotel bathroom is large, but wait… how come there is no bathroom door?? Are you telling me Rock Star doesn’t use doors? OMG, haha..
In case if you still do not feel like a Rock Star, you will be greeted by this mirror with light bulbs all around it, doesn’t this resemble those US TV series where the star always get these kind of mirros in their own powder room? 🙂
Their bathroom ammenities also sit nicely on this adorable guitar like holder. My son was so excited when he saw it and start to do his air guitar actions. 🙂
Usual ammenities like cream / shower caps / needle kit / toothbrush & paste are available.
And right in the bathroom, there is this wardrobe which has 2 ways door, so you can open either front or back and with a hidden safe in it.
As the only door they have is the toilet door and the shower room door, I personally find it a little bit of an hassle, because you will need to change outside the shower room, and without a door at the bathroom entrance, it just mean you will be forced to get change in the shower room with wet floorings instead.
Shower is still good, same brand as Festive Hotel and ensure every shower revitalise your body, mind and soul.
Ha! I also spot a weighing scale, not very Rock Star :p
And after all the checking out of the room, our real fun beings! Swimming Pool! Whee!
All you need to do is just to sign in and get your towels or locker keys and you are good to go. 🙂 If you are guest in other Resort World Sentosa Hotels, you can also use this facilities too.
One of the main highlight of the Hard Rock Hotel swimming pool is that they have this swimming pool bar, you can order your drink while soaking in the swimming pool, chatting away.
The pool bar is quite a hit, and of course with background music of latest hit music, it is just a matter of time before the party mood catches on.
Cool isn’t it? 🙂
The Hard Rock swimming pool is much bigger than festive hotel swimming pool, and it also divided into quite a few sections, some are deeper pool, some are more shallow, and some come with lots of sand at the base of the swimming pool, so you practically feel like you are on the beach rather than in a swimming pool itself.
I like the manmade beach a lot, my son have such a blast playing there building sand castle and playing water gun, while the parents chill, you can see so many people ordering snacks to be served to their seats too.
Imagine sipping your Mojito and savor some hot wings in front of the pool. That’s the life…
The Coliseum which is on the other side of the pool host various concerts too.
And right at the middle of the pool, there is this water slide and also a small children play area where children can have a blast.
For the guest who want to relax further, head down to the center pool where there is jacuzzi facilities, just sit and relax and let the water massage your stress away.
At one side of the swimming pool, they even have a place for you to play beach volley, talk about the size of this swimming pool area.
And when you get all famish after your morning workout in the pool, you can head to Starz restaurant at hard rock hotel which is just right next to the front desk is famous for their international buffet. We had breakfast there and each pax cost $28++.
Althought they do not have the largest spread, they do have quite a few gem and quality food as well.Â
There are Western stables like eggs, bacon, sausages ; Malay food like Mee Rebus ; Indian food like Prata & Curry ; Chinese food like dim sum and other steam food and fried noodles.
Like their lasi lemak there, quite suprise that you can find good ones in hotel setting too.
But what blew me away was the porridge, I have not tried good quality porridge for a long time, this one is close to my all time favourite store at Maxwell market, so thick yet so flavourful, I have several servings of this. Topped with my favourite condiments and a sprinkle of spring onions. Perfect.
All in all I had a great time at Hard Rock Hotel, compare it with Festive Hotel, I will still prefer the rooms at Festive because it is more family friendly, however the Hard Rock swimming pool beats everything else. It is one of the best swimming pools I have been to, my hotel room charges is already worth it judging by how my family enjoyed our family bonding time at the pool. 🙂
