As my plan during the staycation at Wangz hotel was to check out some new restaurants, we managed to try out some new places.
One of them is at Cafe L’ Operetta at Duxton Road. A new restaurant that serve Japanese inspired European cuisine by the L’ Opera group. It is located at the ground floor of Berjaya Hotel,and they are run by a team of Japanese chefs from their main courses down to their desserts.

Mr Curry is another restaurant which I found has an interesting kids menu. As you know they specialize in curry, (you can read my other post about Mr Curry 🙂 ), and it is not easy to find curry that is suitable for kids. At least it can’t be spicy for sure.
So I am quite tempted to bring my son to check out this menu, I wonder how this will rate compare to CoCo Ichibanya Curry, they also have non spicy curry which is suitable for kids.

Watami Japanese Restaurant has extended their popular Set Lunch Menu promotions, I personally have tried out a few of them and was rather happy with the portions and varieties and of course those that I have tried like the beef sukiyaki set taste great too.
The daily special at $10.80++ live up to its standard, and has a variety of sets to choose from.
All served piping hot and most of them are being served on mini stove, so you can get to cook it at the same time, however you want it and the food still stay piping hot when you have a leisure lunch with your friends. Their set has a varieties that comes in hot stone, hot plates, noodles, and hot pot too
From $8.80++ you can already get quite a decent standard set, which also comes with a salad and rice set.
They have several outlets and each outlets have slightly different timing for their set lunch offer, some of them has it daily until 5pm too. Great for people who want to have a late lunch on weekends.
You can also top up from the set drink list or dessert menu if you have a sweet tooth like me.
Oh and before I forget, they are also running promotions for set meal for 2 or 4, if you do the math, you are really getting a big savings from these set.
Perhaps you can order a set meal for 2 and share it with 3 people, or throw in some extra variety, and add some side dishes to go along with it.
You get to choose the combination of dishes in the set, so you won’t be stuck with dishes that you do not like, flexible and affordable!

As promised, I have here Ootoya delivery menu. Ootoya serve authentic home cooked japanese food and as I have mentioned in my previous post, they serve some high quality japanese food at reasonable prices. Besides dining in, they have branched out to delivery and take away menu.
All sets comes with rice, potato salad, boiled Hijiki seaweed & boiled spinach with sesame sauce.
Minimum order of $50 for delivery service.
Delivery time is from 11am to 8pm daily.
Payment can be in Cash/Visa/Mastercard.
Whereas for their take away menus, they have rice bowl and sets to choose from as well. Comes with potato salad, spinach with sesame sauce and hijiki seaweed. So at times, if you are feeling like japanese food but not wanting to go to a restaurant or cook it up at home, this will be a great choice to think of.
