QUICK & SIMPLE RECIPES – DAISO HOTCAKES OR PANCAKES YUMMY BREAKFAST IDEAS

Hi there,

Got this Daiso hotcakes mix couple of weeks back at Rivervale Daiso. Colorful packaging and at 300g, it is much easier to store away,

I can use this for 2 separate breakfasts too. Just half a pack, can serve 4 thick pieces of hotcakes and was good enough for 2 adults & 1 kid to share. Just mix & cook, how simple is that?

KIDS RECIPES IDEAS – BENTO SETS

Hi There,

I was cooking a lunch bento set for my son the other day, and suddenly thought about it will be a great idea to share some of the recipes that I usually make for my son. I love to cooking for him during weekends as I am a busy mummy who works 5 days a week, so weekends will be the only time I could cooking something special for him.

There are some of my friends and colleagues who have children who can be fussy in their diet, so I have recommended them to try out some recipes where you just practically hide the veges into the food. One of my favourite is tofu meat balls.

Ingredients :
Tofu X 1/8 of a pack
Lean pork X 1/4 palm size
Spinach X 1 stalk (soak into hot water)
Carrot X 3 slices
Egg X 1
* You can add garlic or grated onions into the mixture, which I usually do, as I believe garlic, leeks, onions can boast immune system.

Directions :
1) Soak spinach into hot water, or in boiling water with a little salt, boil the carrots at the same time (for 2 mins).
Tips: Putting salt into water, can retain the color of green vegetables and also the salt can bring up the heat so the cooking process can be shortened.

2) Mix all the ingredients into a bowl, and mold into small little balls so that you can serve it with some cute Daiso bento toothpicks, and let the little one to pick it up and eat it with fun.
Tips : Tofu is the binding agent in this dish, if you do not have tofu, try using bread soaked in milk, I use my son’s milk powder if I run out of tofu, that way you do not need to buy a new carton of milk and worry the left over.

3) Pan fry the meat balls, until cooked, add a little soya sauce or ketchup at the end and fry it for a further 10 – 15 secs and is ready!

This is one of the bento set that I made for my son, the ginger bread man is cheese sandwich which is being cut out using a ginger bread cookie cutter. And the brown color “trees” is tau kwa which is being cut out using the Daiso bento cutter too! ^^
