Who doesn’t like Japanese rice crackers, it is something like a stable food for me, haha.. note how I called it food and no longer snack, I just loves the great variety it is available, and for my husband, it seems like he has his own calling.
And that is Kaki no tane, it actually translated as seeds of persimon, the orange fruit with the nice crunchy juicy texture. These mini japanese rice crackers shape like them.
These are really popular in Japan and also in my household because of how easy to eat, and it usually comes with peanuts, great for drinking session or just a simple snack too.
I have been hunting down either macadamia spread or almond spread in supermarket, but it has been so difficult, at most I can only spot regular peanut butter or nutella.
But lucky me saw this clearance sale in Mediya and spotted this almond spread, I tasted it on itself after reached home and I must say the almond flavours is so captivating!!
After seeing the packet ramen which I recommended, I guess you might want to try cooking it up yourself as it is really simple.
For me one of the important ingredients is Menma, which is the preserved bamboo shoots, that goes together with the shoyu ramen, love the texture and the flavour which cuts the greasiness of the ramen.
I was at the Meidiya anniversary sales when I see people snapping up these Nishiyama Ramen, of course the Kiasu side of me got the better of me, and I also took 2 packs, haha…
So menu for dinner was all set. Ramen it is!
Lately I have been visiting Mediya Japanese Supermarket very often, because I have been hunting on Japanese snacks ever since I started my Zumba classes. Talk about trying to compensate all the calories, haha :)
While my son and me were browsing at the rice cracker section, he was asking me if he can get some potato chips, so instead of potato chips, I offered the “green chips”, looking sceptical but can’t resist when it comes to chips, he said he wanted to try it.
So there we tried this interesting spinach chips, taste wise, although it sound much more healthy but I also find it on the saltier side, definitely goes down very well with a glass of icy soda.
Cold Storage / Fairprice / Giant Supermarket Promotions is here.
After the Anpanman cheese balls that I bought for my son, my son has been asking me for more after he polished off the whole pack.
So at Isetan Scotts Japanese Supermarket, I managed to find this cute packaging of blueberry yogurt cheese balls which captured my attention.
On my recent quest for some really good sweet mochi, I got another interesting flavour from Mediya Japanese supermarket over the weekend again.
These Black Honey Soy Bean Mochi was actually under clearance sale, the original price was $1.50 each but I got it at $0.50 each, not bad at all huh?
Most people know about the Ippudo ramen at Mandarin Gallery, but do you know they also sell their Ippudo Hot Sauce at Meidiya? I chanced upon them when I was doing my grocery there, and immediately snap it up, because it says Ippudo Hot Moyashi Sauce. Which is to say Ippudo Hot Sauce for Bean Sprout.
Since it says bean sprout, so I decided to make a salad out of it, I used below ingredients :
- Bean sprout x 1 back (heads and ends peeled)
- Chives x 1/4 bunch
- Shabu Shabu Pork x 1 pack
