HARD ROCK HOTEL SINGAPORE STAYCATION – ROCK N ROLL AT RESORT WORLD SENTOSA

Over school holidays, it is always nice to spend some quality time with the family, and this year we decided to stay one night at Hard Rock Hotel after our fabulous stay at Festive Hotel at Resort World Sentosa couple of months ago. 🙂

The last stay of 3D2N at Festive Hotel was so impressive that we just couldn’t wait to see how Hard Rock Hotel can bring this time.

Of course, the biggest reason for me to stay there is their really good pool, the man-made sand beach is definitely on my cards this time round, so that I could bring my son to rock & roll there. 🙂

ALBERT COURT VILLAGE HOTEL SINGAPORE – THE PLACE WHERE HERITAGE MEETS COMFORT

I was at a “Photos make your Blogs go Pop!” workshop organized by Omy.sg & Panasonic just a week ago at Albert Court Village Hotel, had a blast and thought I might as well take this opportunity to talk about the hotel and also the place which holds a special place in my heart since I reached Singapore – Little India 🙂

Albert Court Village Hotel is a boutique hotel comprising restored pre-war shop houses with Straits Chinese carvings and motifs, located near the Art Museum, National Library, Art Schools and Little India where more cultural heritage beckons.

Although Albert Court Village Hotel is very near to my work place, I have yet to step in there for once. So I took this opportunity to see if I can find any new gems in this hotel and perhaps a new plan on my next staycation. 🙂

As the workshop include a little hands on session at the heart of Little India, I was actually quite excited about it, as I always have a soft spot of Little India area.

PORT OF LOST WONDERS SENTOSA REVIEWS (POLW) – AHOY AHOY AHOY HERE COMES THE PIRATES

Over the long weekend last week, I have made my way for a short staycation at Hard Rock Hotel and also prepared for some serious fun at the newly opened Port of Lost Wonders at Sentosa. 😉

Port of Lost Wonders opened since 14 April 2012, so it is one of the hottest and newest place you can bring your kids to. 🙂

For little kids who love pirates theme, this place will be spectacular to them. 🙂

I was soooo looking forward to it because my son recently have fallen in love with pirates theme and so this place lately has become a very useful bribery tool to make him a good little boy if I need to too. Haha..

BANDAI SUSHI ROLL MAKER REVIEWS – WHO KNOWS PLAY WITH FOOD CAN BE SO GOOD

So who says you can’t play with food? I am proving you wrong this time 🙂

One way or another, you will probably have played with your cooking set before, and you might also sometimes flip the TV channels and came across this sushi roll maker ads which is from this Japanese toy maker Bandai. I have been so obsessed with it since I saw it on a kids channel and decided to hunt around to see if I can get one, and lucky me found it at Robinson. 🙂

Just the look at it is captivating, there are so many cute pictures of sushi ideas all over the box and also this sushi roll maker toy make different sizes of sushi roll, range from 1 cm / 3cm & 5cm, and using it is a breeze if you can figure out how to use the first time. 🙂 But as they have both English and Chinese pamphlet, and pictures to illustrate how to use it, you should get the hang of it in no time. 🙂

HOW TO COOK JAPANESE RICE AND JAPANESE SUSHI RICE PLUS STORAGE IDEAS

I have many friends over the years asking me how to cook Japanese rice, especially sushi rice so I have demo how to do it here. 😉

First thing first, I know it sound a little cliche but if you want really great tasting Japanese rice, you will need to get good japanese grains, but as I find sometimes the cost is a factor, I will opt for USA koshihikari or Australian short grains as well.

But my no. 1 choice is still Japanese Koshihikari, and over the years I have tried out many brands even the some china brands but the rice ended up not as pearly white and the chewiness just lost through the cooking. 🙁

So now I will stick to USA koshihikari or Japanese koshihikari which is premium short grain rice.

FESTIVE HOTEL AT RESORT WORLD SENTOSA – BEST FAMILY ORIENTED HOTEL – EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Getting out of the hustle and bustle is always something on everyone’s mind, nowadays you can go on to overseas trips to recharge yourself or you can opt for something simplier and cheaper – Staycations 🙂 And even better Staycations at Resort World Sentosa – Festive Hotel – Singapore Most Family Friendly Hotel – a hands down winner.

I decided to do something fun with my family especially my son, but the urge to travel overseas just got a lot more tedious thinking of all my son’s things I have to lug around, so finding a nice hotel to stay in will be great. Staying in Singapore, even picking a hotel in city area will be boring for him. I need a place where I can ~~tired him out~~, okay I mean let him have a whole lot of fun. 🙂

So here I am, searching and googling through so many hotel websites, and decided to go to Sentosa, what’s better time to enjoy Resort World Sentosa, try out Universal Studio and get a taste of Malaysian Food Street. 🙂

Although it is not as popular in Singapore, it is already catching up in other parts of the world. Don’t you just love how sweet the name White Day is? So pure and innocence yet with a hint of romance in it. Just like a White Valentine Day. 🙂

HAPPY CALL FRYING PAN – ONE OF KOREA GREATEST EXPORT! TESTED WITH REVIEWS

I have a thing with cookware, yup, I like to buy, test, use, “admire” them, haha.. as I love cooking, I am always interested in kitchen gadgets and anything that can enhance the whole cooking experience.

My first encounter with Happy Call Korean frying pan, was when I saw the TV shopping channels on a sunday morning, so amazed by how simple this piece of funny looking non stick pan can cook so many dishes in such short time! But the price tag did hit me hard, so I refrained myself from buying any.

Second encounter was on a newspaper when they have a Food and Electronic Fair, and they advertise that there were running promotions on the first 100 customers per day to buy it at half price! but then at the fair, it will be close to impossible to queue to get one, then again, refrained myself from buying any.

BUT! third time lucky indeed! I have no idea how, but somehow browsing G-market and found the Happy Call frying pan advertising on there, and what’s more, at near half of the price, YEAH!
