Lately my husband and I have been ordering Tako wasabi everytime we see it on the menu when we visit a japanese restaurant. It is basically octopus sashimi with preserved wasabi pickles in it.
These usually doesn’t come cheap thou, its a good $10 each small plate as appetizer, but goes very well with some cold sake.

Today I have gone to Isetan to source for my Shabu Shabu ingredients and came across the West Japan & Kansai Fair, if you have been following SingaporeSuperamarketRecipes.com, you would have know my latest love for everything green tea. ๐
And after trying the sample at Tsujiri Hee Honten, I just can’t resist the temptation of these gorgeous green tea sweets.
These Yamari Roll Cake comes in a gorgeous looking box, which is just great for giving out as gift.
Just a look of it, and you can imagine how happy the receiver will be. ๐
The temp store is just right at the entrance of Isetan supermarket and they carry various types of green tea sweets. ๐
They have warabi mochi, green tea soft roll, and the really really tasty green tea mochi as well!

Beef Beef Beef, keyword of the week – Beef. I saw some good marbled cuts at Isetan Scotts Japanese supermarket, so decided to make some simple rice bowl for the weekend.
I actually have 2 recipes, one is teriyaki chicken and one is BBQ beef, as notย everyone in my household are fans of beef, Iย cooked two. ๐ But the time took is still really quickly and not mentioning the dishes. All I need is just the Happy Call pan. ๐

There are many times you might probably see these Shiso leaves on your sashimi plate or takeaway carton. These leaves are usually shiso leaves, which is very versatile and is eaten raw in Japan. Korean also has their own shiso leaves but is called Hangul.
The Korean onesย come in large sizes and also the taste are a little stronger than japanese ones. They are used to wrap up grilled meats, and goes very well with it because of it minty taste. I tried both (Shine Korean Supermarket do sell it), and I still love the Japanese version more. ๐
You can buy these leaves from Japanese supermarkets or Fairprice Finest too. I got mine this time from Finest and it cost $1.95 for 10 pcs. Looks little but it actually can cook many dishes with just one pack. ๐

Now when you head over there, you will instantly be greeted by the lovely pinkish decor and poster which is everywhere right now at Isetan Scotts Japanese Supermarket. There will be more than 35 brands across various parts of Kyushu awaits you to explore.
As you know I am a big fan of food fair, and my weakness is especially in Japanese foodfair. If you have read my other post about Japan Spring Food Fair, you will have by now thinking whether you will want to head over there to check it out.

I like herbal chicken, the really tender texture of chicken dipped into dark soya sauce with freshly cut chilli is really irresistible.
However I also find it hard to get nice ones in hawker center, for the good ones, the price you pay you get only a small portion which means I have to get a few portions at one go to feed the whole family and that add up the costs.
So when I see Seah’s herbal chicken mix, I thought I ll give it a try, sound like a no brainer recipe really. ๐
